I don't have as many dog stories but I do tons of cat stories. I've been blessed with some interesting cats who do make sure I know when they need or want something. Yeats was notorious for when I was on the computer, and he wanted attention he would lay right across the keyboard. I could move him but he would come right back. Once I snuggled with him then he would lie down beside me. Macavity when he wants to eat, taps your leg repeatedly. And when I ask what do you want he goes to his food dish. If I don't get up immediately, he will come back and tap my leg repeatedly.
I agree animals are far more intelligent than we realize.
I tend to overthink and second-guess. I try to let go. Moving on from past mistakes (whether or not they were truly mistakes) is key for me to meet new challenges and make new mistakes. *sigh*
I've lived with people who had needs. Sometimes it worked out; sometimes life intervened.
My favorite OT book is Ruth. I truly believe that kindness matters.

In your own words, describe what you think a peacemaker is.
I almost feel like I am cheating on this one. I have been working on writing the next Bible study. It is on Matthew 5:9. Blessed are the peacemakers. I have found some interesting information on the topic. Anyway, in my own words, a peacemaker is one who pursues peace. They try to make peace with God, themselves, others and between other people. Christ is the ultimate peacemaker as he is the Prince of Peace.
