5-27-25 Reuters on the car's info screen says nothing; the Wi-Fi doesn't seem to care when there's nothin' but trees for miles and the occasional abandoned farmhouse. Dreams left behind when we actually had an idea of what The American Dream was supposed to represent. The olden days of attainability, with strings attached, of course. The only wars here are the ones in our heads, of what to do when confronted with a reality minus any semblance of time that there is something of value worth striving for. A new purpose. A new luxury de- void of luxury and quite possibly devoid of any dreams at all. The only bending trees do is to the wind. We didn't know how lucky we had it back when we barely had anything at all. |

4-14-23 It's been a horrible year; like two hundred months. Everything is terrible and everyone sucks. Where is the solace, and where are the speakers? The world is glowing red, growing bleaker and sneakier. We were the chosen ones; Patient Zero for dismay as we watch the planet burn and have to manage the decay. Fight off your loved ones. Choose your own family. Conquer your inhumanity. Live with the crushing destiny that it's been a horrible year, these last two hundred months. Who do we trust when life is too much? |
