| ...the best poem I've managed to craft. I love it when I create something that actually lines up with what I wanted to do! I needed an 8-line poem for the contest, and I wanted it to be two words and three syllables per line, every line rhyming with no "cheat" rhymes. And I wanted the final line to be open to multiple interpretations. I think I've accomplished every one of those things with this one. :) simplicity Prompt: “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” – Leonardo da Vinci sleek design shapes align graceful line curves entwine talents shine minds refine artwork fine cause divine |
| Celebration Cranking the volume, head bobs and sways, frolicking, dancing, my hair sashays. Lips slightly parting, I mouth the words, fluttering lashes now twitch like birds. Flowing my thin arms to music’s time, I smile as I whisper the lyrics’ rhyme. Happily done with this Nano grind, I celebrate, gleeful, with lightened mind. Snow Day Glazing of white over branches bare brings forth deep well of emotions rare. I puff a chill breath of light, misty fog, then smile as I break into blissful jog. Slithering tongue touches errant flake, drinking its briskness, tongue’s tip will ache. I shift back my weight on a slippery slide, my sneakers now ice skates, I laugh and glide. |

| Okay, so I lied. I finished chapter 30, but there has to be one more. There was more story left to tell than I properly realized, and I couldn't squeeze the rest into a single chapter. So chapter 31 will be the last one. Probably. ;) "Invalid Entry" |
| Okay, I wrote a chunk of the next chapter yesterday, and I've breached 47k words. Today is the day I finish. I've decided. So the last two chapters will be posted today. Yeah. That's right. Nano will be over, and I can take a break from this story to write some poetry or something for a couple of days. It's been a haul, but it will feel good to have the bones of the novel drafted, even if it will need a lot more work before it's finished. :) So, in anticipation of finishing today, I'll post the song that helped to inspire the story: [Embed For Use By Upgraded+] |
| I’ve managed to get to 46k by cleaning up and adding to more earlier chapters. Two more 2k word chapters, and Nano is a wrap!!! :) |
| It's relatively short right now. I wasn't sure how descriptive to make this chapter. I intend to add more to it later, but it's an important one, so I want to give it more time than I really can afford to hit the Nano goal. So I'll leave it lightly sketched for the moment. "Invalid Entry" |
