Returning back to WDC after being gone for over 10 years. |

Well, here I am again after leaving WDC around 2010 after being a member for over 5+ years. I was actually a Moderator, just got that title and had to leave due to an illness and death in my family. But that is now all behind me and I am returning to where my writing career took off. WDC was instrumental in showing me how to work with a group. From encouraging others with feedback on their writing to supporting them and groups with points. This proved to be a perfect foundation for my writing career. When I left I then continued to write scripts and worked as a ghostwriter for some wonderful directors and film companies. I have several Zoom groups with writers that meet and help each other stay accountable and also a write-in group on Meetup. I am so blessed to have had the chance to learn the value of support and carried this forward throughout the time I was away. I hope to be able to give back to the group that helped me and that is why I am rejoining. I will do my best to support and encourage all my fellow writers on this lovely site and continue to learn from them as well. |
| My first day officially being here has been quite a challenge. I really did forget all the shortcuts and tools that I used to know at the drop of a hat. Oh and dare I get into the badges. WOW! Forgot about those entirely. Didn't realize how long it took me to get those. It has been quite humbling to start again. Hasn't been easy. I see some of the same writing friends that I had when I was first on here. StephBee  you still have my name on your bio! You will never know how much that meant to me to see this after all these years. There are others that I will mention in another blog but really happy to see you all!I will look forward to checking out the blogs of those that I don't recognize. But I will remember that it took me awhile to get where I was and I need to take every day in stride. It is about having fun and enjoying a great group after all.  |
