Following a severe seizure, an MRI revealed a tumor the size of a lime in my brain. September 2019 is when this occurred. Situated one inch left and seven degrees from the center of my brain, the tumor touched the hippocampus. The part of the brain that handles language and memory.
When someone wants to know how I am doing? My reply is, “Seven Degrees Left of Center”.
It's amazing to see the grands grow up and blossom. I wish her well as you do. It's an exciting but also frightening time. I'm sure she will manage it well, as you have seen her qualities. Best wishes for her, and you as change comes quickly.
I do have a suggestion, actually. You could create / write on your system's basic Notepad, then copy / paste the finished product into the appropriate place on WDC. I use a Windows machine and the Notepad does absolutely no error-tracking, so you wouldn't get sidetracked by squiggly underlines, red lines, etc. Also, using the Notepad would let you maintain a Saved copy of your work without having to remember to hit the applicable button on WDC, until you're ready to post your work.
It's so easy to get stuck in the past, isn't it? I think it's good to write about it. It's better than holding it in. But I agree with you, it's not healthy to dwell there. 💞
We can't judge you for trying it out. I know there's a lot of controversy about AI, and sometimes people come here and try to fake us out with those stories. Always know your frail human spirit is so much better than anything a bot can put together. Wishing you all the best
Thank you for the update, I needed to be reminded of this too! As long as you are writing, you're a writer. You don't need accolades or somebody else to grant you Writerhood. I agree with Schnujo that you have a lot of talent, even if the words don't come quickly or easily right now.
You've come so far already! Reading this, it's hard to believe that you're recovering from brain damage and your speech therapist previously scored you at a 2nd grade level.
This past week, I experienced change up close. My granddaughter graduated from High School. She doesn't know what is coming. Change. Gone are the daily rituals of preparing for school with the aid of a parent. Gone are the highly monitored rules of public schools.
No, now, she will enter the world of self-management, a time when the simple choices of whether to eat breakfast or wear clean clothes are private, personal choices.
I think she is well ready. She has already shown tenacity and independence. I look forward to seeing what she chooses to do in the future. I wish her well and send my love for a bright future.
