This is the first blog entry for me. Hopefully I will get it right, or at least head in that direction.
I am enjoying this community immensely. I have found a few kindred souls, and so far everyone has been welcoming. I am enjoying reviewing other's work. I hope to learn as I go from the reviews of my work. It is fun to see other's points of view, and inspires me to try to do my best.
I am looking forward to my journey here on Writing.com

Golden portulaca blooms in the window well. Ancient geraniums nod their scarlet heads. White smoke fills leaden skies. We sigh but know the rains will come.
It'll be perfect football weather for the game. The markets shift to melons, apples, squash. Autumn beckons but green leaves say not so soon. Patience is a virtue.
I didn't mind them when they were done in a location away from people's homes and their pets like Kåre Enga in Montana said over a lake. Here they have the streets blocked and people are drinking setting off fireworks with absolutely no safety controls in place. The next morning, our yard has garage strewn all over it like the metal tips and unburned paper and naturally no one goes around to clean up. My poor cats are absolutely terrorized by the sounds.
