I started my blog in June 2016, intending to have a place to get my stories in the hands of readers. I started with one follower -- my wife. Seven years later, I am creeping toward 500 followers. The small chamber they entered held a table with platters of foods they’d seen at the celebration. Two doors led from the room. One opened into a well-appointed hall, the other into a small water closet. After 1458 days, First Reader and I finally received our permanent Certificate of Occupancy from the county. This was a few days shy of the four-year anniversary of losing the house to the Cameron Peak Fire. We still have work to do, but the building department now considers the house complete.
