Low-carb foods are good for me, I know that. In the past, I managed to stick to a low-carb diet for several months and I lost a lot of weight and felt better. Alas, I stopped because it was too difficult for me to maintain counting carbs, making recipes list, searching on the internet and in books, and cooking low-carb. So, I gained weight again, and since I don't feel comfortable in my body. And yes, I should exercise more.
But it starts here and now. I want to monitor my food, and what I am eating and hopefully store recipes and write about the process of eating healthier. Let's try this!

Lentils are not really a low carb food. Half a cup of lentils contains 23 total grams of carbohydrates or 14 net carbs ( subtracting the fiber). I would not eat lentils but I keep a super low carb count. I used to eat lentils in curry but they also don't digest well for me, so I don't miss them too much.
Thank you for mentioning me and my entry! I'm happy that my blog helped another and I wish you the best with your journey.
Keto is very severe and difficult to stick with, and in the long run, is not very healthy. But, I needed to do something and Keto worked. I did end my Keto, but stayed with lowered carbs, and resisting most simple carbs.
I not only maintained my reduced weight, but I have slowly continued to lose more. I think a reduced-carb diet is terrific, easier than trying to maintain Ketosis, and much healthier over time.
Don't get too discouraged! You'll get back on track. There's a ton of weight loss advice out there, but there really isn't a perfect "diet" that works for everyone because all bodies are so different and have different needs. Although Shadow Prowler-Spreading Love is right that cutting out processed foods and calorie dense drinks is best for weight loss, if you aren't already doing that. People are often surprised by the amount of calories they're drinking in a day. Soda, Starbucks, sweet tea, wine, beer, even fruit juice usually has as much sugar as soda. Something to keep in mind.
It's even more complicated because there's more to it than just diet. Stress, hormones, lack of sleep, activity levels, all of those things can also contribute to weight gain. Especially stress and sleep, which most people don't think about when trying to lose weight, but those two things actually have a huge impact. Keep at it!
Hello Friend, I can emphasize with you. I took insulin served times a day for quite a few years. Now, after quite a few health scares I no longer have to take insulin and am no longer classified as diabetic. You'll no doubt get told over and over to watch your carbohydrates. And ghat is very important. But it is also important to keep sodium levels down and drink !Its of water. But, unsweetened tea has good health benefits as sell. Cinnamon is also your friend. If its possible, cut as much processed foods and fast foods and that there will amaze you with how much better you'll feel. Also, be kind and gentle with yourself. Its hard and it takes time to change your eating habits and to loose weight. At first it may be easier to make small changes and build on that. You might also find it helpful to learn the difference between simple and complex carbohydrates. There are many videos on YouTube on that subject. Research then make a simple plan and follow it. Keeping a daily food intake journal is helpful to a lot of people. If you wanna talk, have questions or just Ned a buddy in the same boat, I'm normally always here and I'm more than willing g to exchange numbers to text. You can do this, I have faith in you!
