This will be a blog for my writing, maybe with (too much) personal thrown in. I am hoping it will be a little more interactive, with me answering questions, helping out and whatnot. If it falls this year (2024), then I may stop the whole blogging thing, but that's all a "wait and see" scenario.
I agree with all, but especially number three. I have stated to my wife, who supports my writing, that I need time to write. It's not so much me taking time to write, it's getting others to respect my time to write without interruptions, distractions, and putting demands on that time.
I learned a long time ago to write even if it's the ABCs. Writing when it makes no sense or is non-sense is a very good thing. Trash is a good thing too because even in the trash gems can be found.
Interesting point. What I like most is you discuss this, as a reader and writer, in a balanced way. I'd be screaming 'no movies, no movies, read the book!'
I'm a complete Potterhead and I read the books before watching the movies and the books are way better though the movies do have their moments. I haven't the foggiest notion about Game of Thrones, to be honest.
My fear is something more basic than just book v/s movie or our generation v/s this one. It's this - are people unable to distinguish fact from fiction any more? I've read that people have answered history questions about dictators with Voldemort as an example!!
I'm more E-2: I get a better paying job and professionally annihilate the ex through a weird combination of gambling and gaining power/influence in the broader community.
Very well developed. We had an exercise in our composition class in college similar to this. We were given an outline for a story and had to write the story, then compare them. The same outline produced 35 different stories.
I appreciate this information, thank you. It helps me think about the content should be for each page. I've heard two schools of information about author websites. One is to start an author website before you publish and the other is to wait until you publish. Do you have any thoughts about these?
Do you have any recommendations for free websites especially some most beneficial to writers/authors?
tj wanderlust-words-in-motion - The problem is, I am Australian. I write as an Australian. Pandering to people for whom bad words cause the vapours probably means they are not my audience. C'est la vie.
