What is a happy home? The blogger converted the happy into ideal. According to her, a happy home means a place where we feel safe, comfortable and peaceful.
Many things are rotating here. It may be feelings, memories of dead souls or any previous or new experiences that make our life colourful.
I think we have a happy home here. In defining a happy home, I feel it's one where you feel safe, loved, and secure. It doesn't need to be a castle, a large home, small home, or whatever size you think of. It doesn't have to be immaculate (clean), what I mean there is, a home that is so clean you're afraid to touch anything for fear of smuding something. Comfort is important, but you must also feel loved and safe. Even though our home is small (<1000 square feet), it's a happy place. It wouldn't be the same though, without our 2 dogs, and my wife. in it. What I haven't said yet though, is that it must have inhabitants you love, and who love you.
I'm with you because a happy home can be anything and anywhere as long as the inhabitants be they people or other feel safe, happy and wanted. I share my home with 4 cats, 4dogs, and a CAG. We comfort each other and are content. It's wonderful to have a happy home.
Mary Oliver was an intelligent lady who knew pretty well the realities of every life.In our lives, tragedy and joy both remain in the same row. So, be prepared to face the situation.
Oliver says, "Poets are born are born not made in school. Something that is essential can't be taught, it can only be given, earned or formulated in a manner too mysterious to be picked apart. Poetry, whatever can't be taught, there is a great deal that can be and must be learned. Learning never stops because poetry is a river, and many voices travel in it all with their own light or darkness. The river is waiting for you too! " Her book, A Poetry Handbook was my Bible for so many years. I think she's an incredible poet.
Nice poem, Joy. I'm glad I experience all the same things you wrote in your poem too!

I've been doing a poem, too, each day this April with Katya's Dew Drop Inn. Now that we've reached the end of the month, I don't know where a whole month went. It has been a lot of fun.
My granddaughter gives me flack all the time about not dressing in style. I'm not a trend follower, never have been I prefer comfort over anything and that's not going to change.
