- un-silences events that otherwise stay silent;
- helps to develop personality;
- provides a form of therapy which enables returning in a better and smarter state;
- boosts careers;
- more time is spent achieving one's own goals rather than submitting to the agendas of others;

it assists memory by:
- increasing brain development through the act of writing things down;
- forcing engagement in cognitive recall hence boosting comprehension;

it aids problem solving by:
- improving decision making ability through frequent review;
- using experience gained bouncing back from challenges;

it reduces:
- self-centered tendencies and the preoccupation with self;
- feelings of envy;
- procrastination. By documenting and reviewing past experiences, there's a tendency to plan better for tasks ahead;

it encourages:
- optimism;
- gratitude;
- productivity;
- spirituality.
