| Assignment #6 "Oct. 6 - "Beginning (Where does your story start?):" "Plot: Beginning (Where does your story start?)" (1) Describe your protagonist's life in the beginning (Ordinary World or Stasis) of the story. Brainstorm ways you could establish normality through action and dialog to avoid boring your reader. (2) Describe the inciting incident or trigger (Call to Adventure) that prompts your protagonist(s) to embark on this story's journey (whether literal or metaphorical) and face the conflict. This incident could be large and obvious like a death or disaster, or it could be seemingly insignificant, such as an offhand comment by another character. 1) Adelaide's life in the beginning is talking with her trainer who has kind of become her friend on top of being her trainer. I was also considering bringing in a friend of hers, Mihaela, whom she has known since she was young. A friend of hers who has decided she wants to join Adelaide in her journey. Having Mihaela come over for training and having them chat afterward. It'll bring in some dialog and some world/character building. I also was considering have some of Adelaide's handmaidens or one in particular have a moment too. 2) I was originally going to have it be a thing from her father, the King, but I think I want it to be more of a...not secret thing, but not a public thing. Having her mother be involved and they go to a lady that has been loosely considered a witch, not outright because she is nobility. She is the one who decreed Adelaide as the Chosen and she is the one who has realized it has begun and she must now begin her journey. |
