This will be a blog for my writing, maybe with (too much) personal thrown in. I am hoping it will be a little more interactive, with me answering questions, helping out and whatnot. It follows on from the old one, which is now full.
Annette - In Word, when you click on the header you will open a new tab called 'Header and Footer Tools'. There is a box you can check in this tab for "Different first page". Do this and make the first page header blank.
As most publishers prefer Word (or affiliated programmes), this is the only way I know how. Sorry.
The second Back To The Future movie really screwed up time travel. Biff goes back in time with the sports almanac, gives it to his younger self (immediately changing things) yet somehow travels forward in the old timeline again as a plot necessity. ( When Marty and Doc then go back and forward again, they correctly end up in the new time line.)
The Butterfly Effect was another fail. To prove to another guy he could do it, he goes to the past and changes something about himself so that the guy in the present can see the change and become a believer. But if he had made that change way back, then the guy in the present would only have ever known that changed version.
There's a really enjoyable Spanish film called Timecrimes, where a man sees someone suspicious, follows him, ends up finding the time machine, goes back in time and has all sorts of misadventures before ending up back home. It is this future version of himself that was the suspicious character that started it all in the first place. The only problem is that there is no way this loop can ever get started. He can't ever find the time machine unless he has already found the time machine.
Unless you're really able to think it through, I'd say time travel is best avoided altogether.
Wow, you have quite the background! You're far more academic that I am, and people would never confuse me with an Athlete. Instead, I'm just an athletic supporter, or is it being an athlete supporter? About the only thing we have in common, and it's not all that close, is my father died during the second week of my Senior Year in High School.
I think if the company doesn't want their product used, they should TELL folks up front. Perhaps companies should vie for the best "Tell You No" adds for the Super Bowl. Get that message out

Time again for me to please ask very nicely for you to read my alleged work in columns! I have not included one which was advertising a local event that has been and gone. That still leaves six, 5 about music, one about Rob Reiner…
