I know what you are saying, I totally agree with you, what you wrote. My son has his tantrums and he does scream but I do my best to calm him down. My son is 29 years old and I still have my problems with him. People will always judge but the way I look at it, if they can't understand, then they don't have to look in my direction.
I have a lot of things that I went through with my son and it wasn't easy. Back when my son was young, he would get into my refrigerator and get the ice cream, milk and cookies out and mix it together plus he made a huge mess for me. Those were the times, I wish I had help but I pretty much raised my kids with little help on my own. I'm with someone but he didn't help me hardly.
My neighbor, she told me, she gives me so much credit because she knew, I raised my kids and wrote a book on my own. Raising kids with Autism is not easy and it's hard to make people understand, these kids want acceptance and people in this world don't want to understand anything, when it comes to Autism.
When my son was younger, I had a lady ask me, "is he going to hurt my baby", well, I was mad and told her look up Autism and you will know. It hurts when people thinks a kid with autism would hurt them. That really makes me mad. So, I understand the frustration because I have a son who has severe Autism. I just wish people would understand these kids with Autism aren't doing anything bad. The behaviors my son does, it makes me wonder if he copied someone else. I know what it's like to have someone say something mean especially when it comes to my kid who has Autism. My son does have his behaviors but he takes medication for it. I just wanted to let you know, I understand what you are going through.
I hope you are doing well and I will come back to your port and read what you have on here.
