An on the edge teen frequently runs away from his foster parents and enjoys criminal activity. However, a snowboarding crash sends him into a coma. In this coma he has a painful dream. When he awakens, he is surprised to see that he has sprouted a tail. Convinced it means something and not wishing to see his foster parents again, Herridan (the teen) runs away once again. But after a series of misadventures, he winds up finding a portal to another world. One where magic, swords and royalty are a way of life, but every citizen looks like some kind of strange alien and their personality reflects perfectly how they look. So when Herridan learns tailed people are the scum of Golm (the land he found) he gets upset. When he falls in love with the Princess, he finds peace. When he learns he can wield a sword masterfully, he finds promise. And when the Emperor Runar learns of an apocalyptic power that can destroy both worlds, he learns what he must do. Follow Herridan, the 23 year-old who is lost about his past and his race, see the wonders of Golm in the present and attempt to save the future.
