Caroline was excited about moving into a new house until she heard the stories. . .
[Introduction]
Caroline was excited about moving into her family's new house, until she started hearing the stories of what had happened there. It was on her first day of school, she was meeting some other kids there, even started making plans. They asked where she lived. She replied "That old house up on Vernon ST".
The other girls went quiet, and just stared at her. "Haven't you heard about what happened to the last family that lived there?" Caroline, trying not to look bothered was confused about the girl's strange query.
"N-no. Why? What about the last family?" She asked.
An influx of kids congregated where Caroline was. "Caroline, the daughter of the last family that lived there, went crazy. She tried to kill her parents and ended up killing herself." Samantha told her, giving Caroline a sympathetic look. Caroline was shocked, she couldn't believe what she'd just heard.
"N-no. You can't be serious." She said.
"We wouldn't joke about this."
The bell rang, time to go home. On the bus ride home Caroline was quiet unlike all the other students and tumult, she was thinking about what Samantha had told her, she knew if her family stayed in the house it wouldn't be a balmy experience, still trying to wrap her mind around the intricate details of the girl. When she got home, she went up to her room, starting to look at mementos of her home in Chicago hoping it'd help her forget the girl. It wasn't as if things like this were even sporadic for her. Her mother came upstairs.
"Hey Carrie, you better get started on those boxes I'm sure you've got homework to do."
"Y-yeah Mom, I'll get on it." Caroline responded her voice soft and quiet.
"Everything okay?" Her mother asked.
"Yeah, actually no. Mom did you hear about anything that happened to the last family that lived here?"
Her mother puzzled, answered. "Well, what do you mean?"
"I mean did you hear about that girl that went crazy?"
"Caroline what are you getting at? No girl went crazy here." She said trying to divert her attention.
"Sorry mom, some kids at school told me-"
"Don't listen to those kids, they act so unseemly, they're just trying to scare you, now unpack your stuff dinners in 20 minutes. It'll probably be some kind of TV dinner since we haven't unpacked much." She said encouraging her to unpack.
Caroline, though skeptical about what her mother had told her, did as she was told.
After dinner and doing the homework Miss Belle had given her, Caroline went up to her room, getting ready for bed, when she felt as if someone had sat on the bed with her. She quickly got up and looked around.
"Calm down Caroline, there's nothing there! This is just another boring, old room!" She told herself, then turned off the lights and got in bed. Though she couldn't let go of the feeling as if someone was with her. Until suddenly in the corner she saw something, someone.
"Who are you!?" She yelled, quickly sitting up.
The figure moved closer to her bed.
"My name's Jesse, you're in my room."
Caroline was horrified, she knew who this was, the girl that went crazy!
"W-what do you want from me?" She asked.
"I want you, ---there was a pause-- dead!"
Caroline's eyes widened her agility shot. "Why?" She asked.
Jesse moved into the light coming from Caroline's window, Caroline could see cuts and scratches all over her face and arms. Then Jesse took out a knife. Caroline jumped off the bed, about to make a run for it but Jesse pulled her back. "Where ya going, Caroline?" She said, smiling.
"Please! Let me go!" Caroline begged, tears starting to fill her eyes, she was hoping someone would come in, help her, but her parents room was down the hall no one could hear her. Jesse started choking Caroline, Caroline trying to pull back Jesse's grip to try and scream. Jesse started to cut up Caroline's face, and arms. Laughing as she did it. At the strike of midnight it ended, Jesse was gone.
"Caroline! Wake up! Time for school!" Her mother yelled out, the next morning.
"Caroline! I mean it! Get up!" Her mother walked up to Caroline's room and opened the door, to see the lifeless body of her daughter on the ground, covered with blood. Her face was all cut up.
Her mother let out a terrified scream, and ran to call the police. When the police and ambulance arrived, they took the body and inspected Caroline's room. But with no leads or suspects, they had to leave it unsolved.
After hearing about the news, the girls at school had a hint of what it could've been, but they kept their mouths shut, in fear of what might happened if they told. Caroline's family moved they couldn't bear to live in such a place with all that had happened. A few years later another family moved into the house. I'm sure you can guess what happened.
