HOME WORK, but i need people to judge on it
[Introduction]
Character Counts
“A Life Well Spent”
By:Noel Canales

Character is what another way of defining someone who is honorable, respectful, and Caring; someone who never gives up, no matter how hard the situation gets. This Can Help You in your life and helps you get the best out of it.

Dr. Ben Carson from the book Gifted Hands has a great character. He never gives up though at times he has nothing. For example when he was in college and had no money left, he didn't drop out, he worked as hard as he could to find a job till he found one. When Dr. Carson was a child he would always respect his mother and what she told him to do.

In the book The Lost Boy; David Pelzer ,a teen who was brutally abused by his mother, has to survive his teen years in foster care. While under this care David shows bad character by showing disrespect towards the people in the foster homes and the community around it. In a certain parts of the book David gives up hope. An example is when David gets tired of having to change from foster home to foster home so much he doesn't even bother to have a relationship with his foster parents. By the end of the book David starts to show a better character after learining that his actions were never that great.

Rolfe Carlé, a TV reporter, shows the exact definition of character when he stays with a young girl, Lily, after she was buried as an effect of a volcanic eruption. He risks his life in order to keep the girl as comfortable as he can. As a cause of this even Rolfe's attitude changes into a caring and honorable person.

All these and more are definitions great and not so great of character. They all show how being a being honorable, caring, respectful, and never giving up can change your life and have “a life well spent”.
