Early Harvest

This is a short story about a neurotic young woman who reveals to her two siblings that their father, her stepfather, a man held in the highest esteem by his family and the community, was not the man everyone thought him to be.
The manner in which she reveals this family secret is by way of a videotape she discovered among his personal papers.

Tension is created amongst the siblings because the revelation comes AFTER the stepfather has passed away.


The main characters are:

Ginny (the protagonist) -- about 30 years old
Ron Campbell (the middle sibling) -- 25 years old
Darlene (the youngest sibling) -- 22 years old
Aunt Frances (the elder sister of the deceased) -- 70 years old

The setting of the story is New York City in the mid-1980's.
