What Is Darkness?

What is darkness? Darkness is when one loses themself. When they are so busy pretending to be someone else that they no longer exist. Darkness is nothing but intolerable pain. It's no food in the cupboard, dirty dishes and scum everywhere, mom and dad drunk and violent all the time. It's not being able to enjoy the new family because of the scars from the last one. It's no friends, no safety, and no hope. Darkness is when one loses all happiness and joy. Darkness is when one is lost and there is no help coming.
