This is the part 2 of The Story of Love |
[Introduction]
Trent looks at him, confused. "What was that...?"
|
"Well, you lost your job right? I want you to come work for me when you're ready to go back to work," Jason explained. |
"Jason......I.......I don't know how to thank you!" Trent replies with a huge smile. |
"You don't need to say anything. It's not a big deal." Jason shrugs. "Thank you, Jason," Jessica tells him while giving her brother a hug. |
Trent sighs happily. "You both have done so much for me.........I'm so lucky to have met you both." |
"Yes, you are. Don't you forget it either," Jessica teases Trent. She leans down and kisses Trent, "love you." |
Luna cuddles up next to Trent and starts purring. "She's one content little kitty," Jason adds. |
"Alright my love, you need to get a little rest and I need to get some things cleaned up at home. I want you to think about what you'll need from your place so Jason and I can go get it tomorrow." Jessica was explaining while tucking him in. |
Jessica laughed, "Yes, of course. Silly kitty." She placed Luna in her purse then leaned down to kiss Trent, "I love you, baby. Dream of us." |
Trent kisses back softly. "I love you too dear, I will dream of all three of you." |
"You're silly! I think the painkillers are kicking in. I meant to dream of me and Luna. I love you, baby get some rest." |
Jessica and Jason left the hospital and stopped to grab a bite to eat on the way home. "I'm really happy to see you happy finally, Jess," Jason offered. "Thanks, me too. I really love him, Jason." |
Once home, Jessica and Jason start cleaning up a bit before going to bed. Jessica tossed and turned all night with bad dreams while Luna tried to comfort her, to no avail. |
Trent had bad dreams about losing Jessica. When he finally woke, he sat up and screamed her name in worry. |
The next morning Jessica got ready to go to the hospital. She was exhausted from not sleeping well but felt a strong urgency to go see Trent. She picked up a coffee on her way to the hospital. |
Trent kisses back and looks at her. His eyes showed signs of recent sobbing. "N-not too well." |
"Baby, what's wrong? Have you been crying? Are you in pain? Those damn nurses, I knew I should have stayed here last night!" |
"I-I know......but.....I was thinking about what it would be like without you around........" He tears up again at the thought. |
"Well, we won't have to worry about that for quite a long time, ok," she said and kissed his cheek. |
"that's pretty normal after a traumatic event. You need to give yourself time to heal, emotionally too. I will give you the name of a therapist to see when you leave here." the dr said then turned to review Trent's chart. |
Trent sighs. He didn't want to see a therapist. Last time he visited one, he didn't help at all. |
"Well, Trent. Your bloodwork looks perfect. How'd you like to go home?" the doctor asked. Jessica's face lit up at the question. |
"I'll get the paperwork started and you'll be on your way in a couple of hours." "Thank you doctor." Jessica said as he was leaving. |
"Of course, silly, where else would I be?" saying as she kisses him. "I better run to your place and get you some clothes to wear home. You can't go out in that," Jessica laughs. |
By the time Jessica returned with clothes for Trent he was signing his discharge papers, "Perfect timing, baby!." |
"Hey Jessica!" He finishes the last part of the paperwork. "How is my lovebug doing?" |
"Are you hungry? You must be sick of this food in here. Tell me what you'd like for dinner and I'll make it," Jessica said. |
"I can do that," Jessica smiled. The nurse popped back in to say that he was ready to go and they'd have an aide come with a wheelchair. |
"It's hospital policy, you sit tight. You'll be on your way in a minute," the nurse explained. |
Before they left the room, Jessica called Jason to bring the car to the front as she was coming down with Trent. |
Trent had Luna in his lap. He pets her as he waited for the car. Luna purrs loudly, |
"I think Luna is happy to be taking you home too," Jessica said while bending over to pet her. |
Once they arrived at Jessica's and she got Trent settled, she gave a list to Jason for groceries. She was in the kitchen making pot of coffee chatting away to Trent who wasn't responding. When she peeked around the corner, he was fast asleep. |
Trent had another dosage of painkillers pumped into him right before he left, so it knocked him out |
Jessica grabbed the throw off the chair and carefully cover Trent with it and then kissed his forehead. |
Jessica retreats to the kitchen for coffee and to start preparing dinner as she waits for Jason to return with the groceries. |
Jason arrives back from the store just in time bringing the necessary ingredients Jessica needs to make this wonderful welcome home meal for Trent. |
Jason and Jessica were in the kitchen talking while Jessica was cooking. A few minutes later Trent walked in. |
"Hi baby, a couple hours," Jessica said kissing him. "You're up just in time for dinner, it's almost ready!" |
"Well, I fiigured while you are recuperating you can sleep in my bed," Jessica said matter-of-factly. |
"Don't be ridiculous, Trent! You are sleeping in that bed," she said playfully waving her finger at him. |
Jason laughed out loud and winked at Trent which left Jessica blushing, "We'll discuss that later, privately. Dinner is just about ready." |
After they left the kitchen, Jessica could hear them laughing and talking in the other room. She walked to the window and tears rolled down her face as she stared out over the city. She felt Luna at her ankles and reached down to pick her up. |
"Oh, Luna. Go play with Trent. I need to get dinner finished." Jessica says as she sets Luna on the floor. Luna scampers out of the kitchen and Jessica pulls the plates from the cabinet. |
"So, what do you guys think? Like it or no?" Jessica asks while pouring herself a glass of wine. |
"Of course you do Luna, who else gives their cat filet mignon?" Jessica laughed. "Did you say something, Jess?" Jason inquired from the dining room. |
Jessica returned to the table to finish up her dinner and found Jason and Trent in the middle of an interesting conversation. |
"Why wouldn't I? You can't get around right now. That's why you're here, so I can help you." She responded. |
Trent doesn't bother to remind her that it was just his arm that was shot. "Okay then, I'd appreciate that luv." |
As Jessica winks at Trent, she asks if they are ready for dessert and coffee. "I think she might need some coffee," Jason says motioning toward Luna who fell asleep beside her food bowl. |
"Here you go, my love," Jessica said handing Trent one of his pain pills and his antibiotic. As Jason was clearing off the table he said, "Jess, go sit down with Trent, I'll clean up'." |
Trent takes both and stands up. "Very nice of you Jason." He goes to the couch and sits down. |
Jessica picks up Luna and she quickly settles in her lap as she pats her. "I feel so tired all of a sudden," Jessica yawns. |
Jessica was about to say something and then nodded off. Luna was on her lap fast asleep as well. |
Trent felt bad for being the one who was to sleep in the bed, so he carefully moved Jessica and Luna to the bed. |
Jessica fell right back to sleep and was comforted knowing that Trent was there, beside her. |
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," Jessica says through sobs. Jason rushes in asking what's wrong and finds his sister crying. |
Jessica soon brought two plates for Trent and Jason, omelets and bacon. "Here you go, boys. Enjoy." |
"I love you. I'll be right back," she replied. Jessica returned with a plate for herself and the coffee pot. |
"Well........I have to rest my arm for about 5 more days before I begin PT.........if I try it any sooner the wound might open back up....how about you?" Trent asks with a smile. |
"Well, I need to clean up around here and get some work done. I've fallen a little behind, I'm afraid," Jessica said as she handed Trent his pills. |
Trent chuckles and nods with a smile. "Will do." He finishes his breakfast and looks her. |
"Jason, can you come to the grocery store with me? We need some stuff," Jessica asked her brother. "Sure, of course," he replied as he took his plate to the kitchen. |
