There is a new king of Gondor and he's racist...who can stop him?
[Introduction]
Aragorn, Arwen, Gimli, Merry, Pippin, Sam, Frodo, Legolas...all dead. But what about their descendents? 400 years after the fellowship.

Aragond is a main character. He is the grandson of Aragorn. You would think that naturally he is Aragorn. Quite the opposite really. He's spoiled and now that he has taken over Gondor and every land that was built by humans. He plans to take over the empty elf, dwarf, hobbit, and nymph cities. Why would they be empty? Because the few that are left have been gathered and are being sold into slavery. Every human family that is doing well in their life have at least one slave. Elf (most expensive), Nymph (2nd), Hobbit (3rd), dwarf (least expensive). Because there is such a shortage on these creatures you must be whealthy to own one of the 2 most expensive. Aragond figures he can make more money off of this system.

Choose Wisely. Your choice could change everything.

Name:Annúnminuialiel Vaathonien Greenleaf

Nickname:Ann mostly. Her brother may sometimes call her Vaathonien, her middle name, when he is angry with her.

Family:Her father was Prince Legolas Greenleaf and her mother was the daughter of Queen Galadriel. Her parents were considered as threat against the king's new order and were both murdered. She has an older brother, Hirith Greenleaf who is very protective. He is being hunted by humans because he is the heir to the throne of Mirkwood and Lothlorien because their parents are dead. This makes him all the more protective of Ann.

Personality:Sweet and usually quiet. Has learned it wise not to tell anyone about who her parent were because its dangerous and so many people judge. She also feels that if she wants to become close to someone she has to tell them her secret or they can never trust her. Generous and not really agressive unless the situation calls for it.

Appearance:Shoulder length blonde hair with light ghostly blue eyes from Legolas. She like most elves looks angelic and almost perfect. Usually wearing a royal blue cloak over her clothing and a silver crown encrusted with diamonds on her head which is the only thing she has to remember her mother and Lothlorien.

Skill: Very talented with elvish weapons. Her sword, two elvish long knives, and her bow and arrows that she almost always has with her. She believes she has no talent otherwise.

Fear:Afraid of losing her brother and afraid of confinement and heights.

*~*~*~*~*

I sat on the back of a pure white horse while my brother Hirith, just ahead of me, was on a brown horse. I patted her neck and urged her to follow my brother. We were taking a path in the forest of Mirkwood my brother wearing a fine green elvish cloak he had recieved from my father. His silver crown with intricate design glittered beautifully. I admired my brother so much.

"Hirith." I said. "If the elves had managed to make it we would have seen them already."

"There are few but I am sure some escaped from Aragond's clutches. We need to get a band together to fight against Aragond." He said.

"Well whoever got away it wont matter. It doesnt matter how many. Aragond's army is to large. Much to large for us to fight." I said.

"Us? YOU wont be going if we do." Hirith said to me.

"Why not? I think I could do just as well. You cant make me stay behind you know." I said.

"Ann..." He changed the subject. "We'll have to head to that city.

"They'll catch us." I stated looking at the city.

Hirith pulled up his hood to cover his ears and face. I did the same hoping that we wouldnt get caught and if we did it would be someone with the same views as us.

If Hirith was caught...he'd be killed and I would become another elf slave. I tried not to look at the few elves laboring in the city. That could have been Hirith or me! The elves eyes lingered on us. They knew but the humans did not. To them we were just travelling strangers.
Name: Narukohitori Afireiel

Nickname: Nari, usually. Ruko to a few.

Family: Her family has long been a very important one among the nymphs. The women in her family have often been gifted with foresight, and stopped some terrible things from happening. Everyone in her family was killed by the king because he feared that they would foresee how to make him fall from power. She had a little brother, who is still very young. His name is
Ariel.

Personality: very very sweet. However, she can be bitter and cynical. She wants nothing more than for someone to love her for who she is.

Appearance: Long bright purple hair, complemented by bright blue eyes. Hair pushed away from her face by a gold band with a single gem that is both purple and blue. Tall with curves.

Skill: Good with swords, uses two. Very musical. Can really hurt a person by playing extremely high notes.

Fear: Falling in love with someone and then losing them.

______

I was riding fast and hard towards the Mina's Tirith. My buckskin horse wasn't losing any of her energy as we neared the city. The dark blue velvet scarf I had wrapped around my head made me look completely human, for not a wisp of my hair had come undone from the tight (and raher painful) bun I had pulled it into. I urged the horse to go faster and I finally stopped at Mina's Tirith. I rose through the gates of the city. Some nymphs gave me looks, noticing the band on my forehead that was the mark of my family. Some acted afraid, but some just stared. No humans even noticed me. I saw some people that I could tell weren't human. They were elves. I rode up to the one on the white horse. The man in front of her stopped and turned around, giving me a look that would've frightened any human. It didn't even make me flinch. I rode away from them, but then a strong breeze caught one of their hoods and pulled it off. I clutched the scarf around my head, and managed to keep it from flying off. However the gaurds had spotted them. I did the only thing I could think of. I screamed. "Aaaah! An Orc! An orc is stealing from that vendor." That was enough to distract the foolish human gaurds and they ran off to find the orc.

Name: Caldirional Bashalimyth

Nickname: Caldirion

Family: He was born into a wealthy Elvish family that was friends and allies to those of Rivendell, Mirkwood, and Lothlorien. After many of the elves were either killed or enslaved, Caldrion was also enslaved by King Aragond.

Personality: He remains noble and honest, despite all that's been done to him and his family. Having lost all his close relatives and friends, his heart has hardened some, but he still hopes for better and brighter days. He is opinionated, independent, courageous, and strong. On a lighter side, he is kind and generous to those who deserve it.

Appearance: He stands tall at around 6'3", has broad shoulders, an agile body, dark brown hair, and enchanting, dark green eyes. His complexion is slightly tan, and he still exudes Elven confidence even though it is punished and not accepted anymore because of King Aragond. He also has a mysterious yet alluring demeanor.

Skill: He is skilled in healing, for he has had to help save the lives of fellow elves, nymphs, hobbits, and dwarves who have been enslaved and tortured. He is also good with elven blades and can defend himself when necessary.

Fear: Losing all faith and hope for better and brighter days to come.

I was tending to some elf slaves who had been hurt while working, healing their scars and trying to comfort them, when all of a sudden I heard someone shout.

"Aaaah! An Orc! An Orc is stealing from that vendor!" A voice cried out. This yelling caught the attention of some human guards, and they quickly went to find the perpetrator.

"Stupid guards," one of the female elves, Ardelia, muttered.

"What do you mean?" I asked, though I agreed wholeheartedly.

"That was a nymph," she replied. "She was smart you see, distracting the guards from those two on the horses."

I looked behind me to where Ardelia pointed. A female on a white horse was adjusting her hood, and a male was in front of her on another horse.

"They're elves," I said quitely to myself. "How I would long to travel freely as they do."

"Well then, what are you waiting for?" Ardelia asked me.

"What do you mean?" I questioned.

"Caldirion," she answered. "If anyone here deserves freedom and an escape, it's you. You have been so good to the rest of us, and you probably complete the most work, even I have to admit that."

I smiled at my dear friend and looked towards the ones on the horses. "Do you think they'd be willing to help me? It might be too risky for them."

"Well," Ardelia began, "the only way to find out is to ask." With that, she gave me a nudge in the direction of the disguised elves on the horses. I looked up to them as they neared and tried to compose myself. I was both afraid of and excited to see how they would react.
Hirith stopped and I stopped beside him just in time to hear Hirith say some words to the elf in elvish so the humans couldnt understand. Hopefully they couldnt hear either. We didnt want to get caught. Hirith rode away signaling me to stay with the male elf. He entered a dark alley way and returned with another horse that he must have bought.

"Hello." I smiled underneath my hood. "I'm... Annúnminuialiel you can call me Ann."

"Caldirional" He answered politely.

"Here. You can travel with us but make sure know one sees your an elf. We need to look as human as possible. Hide your ears with your hood." Hirith said it sounded so much like an order because he had gotten used to giving orders.

"Where to Hirith?" I asked.

"Well little sister we are going to have to cross through the city and head to Lothlorienn to see if any elves are there. Then I can plan our rebel against Aragond." Hirith whispered.

"You have no idea what you just got yourself into." I whispered to Caldirion. He smiled looking excited.
Nari

I stood by the gates of the city, I had sent my horse outside the city gates. I was standing by a wall, when some ticked off looking gaurds stopped in front of me. "Nymph" One sneered. I smiled lazily.

"Ta ta" I said in a sing song voice as I pulled one of my swords and cut a rope holding up the flag of Gondor. A gaurd that had been standing above me fell onto the rope and grabbed it. I grabbed my sword and the rope as it pulled me up as the gaurd fell down. I was on the outer wall, 20 feet above the gaurds. I smiled and jumped off the wall onto the back of my horse and took off, laughing with a crazy rush. I took off, I had already lost the gaurds. I wrapped my scarf around my head, and kept riding. I knew one of these days my luck was going to run out, but it hadn't been today. I saw the group of elves and I was catching up with them. I slowed down as I caught up with them. "That was interesting." I said slowly.

"You have no idea what you have just got yourself into," Ann whispered to me as rode on horses and followed Hirith.

I just nodded in understanding and smiled at her words. At that moment, I felt that nothing could be worse than slavery. Nothing could bring more pain and suffering than the enslavement and torture ordered by King Aragond.

I turned my head to face Ardelia. Her eyes watered and a smile spread upon her face as her gaze met my own. I knew she was happy for me, as was I, but I felt sorrow in the back of my mind and heart. I was troubled for I knew I could not leave Ardelia here forever. I knew I would have to return and try to save as many of the slaves as possible.

Ardelia was tapped on the shoulder by a fellow slave and jerked her gaze from mine. I returned my sight to the path that lay before me. No matter where I was being led, and no matter what I was getting myself into, I would try to help Ann and Hirith in any way.

"Caldironal?" Ann questioned after we had left the Minas Tirith. "Are you alright?"

"Oh please, Ann, call me Caldirion," I insisted politely.

"Alright then," she responded. She then paused and changed the subject. "It will be quite some time before we reach Lothlorien."

"Indeed," Hirith joined in. "I hope you're used to riding for long periods of time."

"I'll survive," I replied as I looked at the horizon before us. "I have lived through much I tell you, and if I can stand through that, a horse ride should not be a challenge." Ann smiled slightly at my remark, but Hirith laughed, surprising even me.

"It is good to know you have a positive outlook," he said, continuing on. "Caldirion, I am glad you joined us. You may prove to be more useful than I expected."

"That is good to know," I responded, with a grin upon my face as well.

"Your faith and your knowledge of Aragond's works will be helpful," Ann stated. "It is up to you if you truly want to help."

I rode in silence for a moment before answering, "There is nothing I would rather do than see the slaves freed, and Aragond punished for his actions."

Ann stayed quiet while Hirith retorted, "That's what I was hoping you'd say..."

The golden sun began to set sending a ray of colors across the clouds. The darkness was beginning to set and it was getting unnaturally dark. It made it very hard to see, even for an elf or nymph or other creature. I pulled at the horse's reigns behind Hirith. He stopped looked around with a strange expression. After a while he relaxed and got of his horse.

"We'll stop here and continue on in the morning." Hirith said. "No fires. Its to risky."

"So we have about....a four days journey left to Lothlorien." I stated though asking at the same time.

"Yes." Hirith nodded and unrolled a blanket across the ground. He sat down and began to busy himself with putting his dagger safely under his pillow. Why was he so paranoid about this?

"So. Caldirion. What was it like...back there?" I asked curiously.

"Well...it wasnt favorable." He smiled slightly and looked around.

Hirith sat staring into the forest as I listened carefully to every word Caldirion told me about slavery. It clearly wasnt favorable. I couldnt believe how horrible it was.

I finnaly fell asleep with a yawn. I dont know how long it had been before I was awaken by rustling. Sometimes elf hearing was an awful thing. I sat up quickly and saw Hirith standing at the edge of the forest pacing.

"Hirith? Whats wrong?" I asked him.

"Oh, nothing. Just...I dont have a very good feeling about this." he said.

"Everything will be fine." Caldirion said standing next to us with a smile. "We've been lucky enough so far."
I sighed and walked over to the edge of the woods, feeling the breeze blowing gently on her face. I heard something, sounding like horses. I glanced up, the mooblight glinting off of the gemstone in the band on my forehead. I heard something rustling behind her in the trees, and saw a little nypmph come running out of the trees and past me...strait towards the fires of the camps patrolling for creatures in the distance. I chased after her and caught her. I whispered to her in nymph that it was dangerous, and she went back into the woods. She came back out dragging another nymph. Who was rather handsome..

I pushed that thought from my head. I had already refused to ever have feelings for anyone that were even slightly romantic.

~Caldirion~

"Everything will be fine," I said with a smile as I stood next to Ann and Hirith.

"Do you not hear that?" Hirith asked.

"Yes," I replied looking up at the trees around us. "We are not alone, nor are we in danger."

"What do you mean?" Ann questioned softly.

"We are near trees and a forest you see, which means that there are Ents nearby as well," I explained.

"It has been a long time since I last saw an Ent," Hirith remarked.

"I have never seen one, but I've heard of them before," Ann added.

"We have no reason to fear them," I assured her. "They only harm those who mean to harm them." Ann nodded in understanding as she and I sat down on a blanket near our horses. Hirith remained standing, listening attentively to the rustling.

"It is a single Ent for now," he stated. "He is nearing our site. Shall we stay and confront him?"

"Our father knew an Ent," Ann said suddenly. "Treebeard was what he said his name was, if I remember correctly."

"That is correct," Hirith whispered. "Let us not speak of that now please."

"Your father, was he King Legolas?" I inquired as politely as possible.

"Yes, he was our father," Ann answered quietly.

"I have heard only great things about your father then," I replied. "I would have loved to meet him. I would ask what he was like, but I have already had that question answered."

"How so?" Hirith asked, joining in.

"Through the two of you," I stated. "You both have shown many qualities that I'm sure were characteristic of the legendary Legolas. I'm sure he would be proud of you both." Ann gently laid her hand on my shoulder in thanks, while Hirith smiled slightly before returning to listening to the rustling of the coming Ent.

"Caldirion," Ann finally said, breaking the silence, save for the rustling of the Ent, "Thank-you for approaching us in Minas Tirith. It is nice to have you along."

"No, thank-you," I responded. "If it wasn't for you two, I would still be enslaved today by King Aragond."

"It seems to me that our paths have crossed not by mere coincidence," Hirith stated, still standing and guarding the premisis. "Perhaps, it is fate that has brought you to us, Caldirion."
My feet were muddy. They were caked in a blue-black mud that came from dredging the waters along the Long Lake at the base of the ruins of Esgaroth. I gave them a wry smile and clucked my horse into a trot. Father wouldn't be very happy.

I had ignored the first two letters, urging me in flowing script and flowery language to return home for state functions. But those had ended up tossed to the wind, only to be read again by mountain goats in the Iron Hills. The third letter, however, was blunt and it couldn't be ignored. I had to hurry and so I set off in the nicest thing I could find, a simple red dress I scavanged in a small village, quiver belted around my waist and muddy feet. Father would have to live with the feet, I had no time to wash them off or find shoes.

"Besides," I said to my horse as night fell, "serves him right for disrupting my work." The sun completely set and the stars ceased hiding from the sun and lite up the night sky in droves. They swirled above my head as I thought and contemplated a way to return without attracting much attention. "I'll have no trouble with the guards. They're used to the wayward daughter of the house of Bowman. And..."

The night whispered human voices and the wind carried them to my ears. "What's this?" I asked silently. Who else could be out on this lonely stretch of road. I turned my horse off the path and into a thicket. Silence fell about me like a cloak and part of me was urging a retreat. But my curiousity once again damned me and I continued forward.

As I broke through a stand of juniper, I saw the points of weapons gleaming in the darkness. And through the shafts of moonlight I saw the faces of slaves: elves and nymphs. They had heard me coming, elves expecially have excellent hearing, and now I was held at weaponspoint. I sighed and closed my eyes briefly, I had been in stickier situations than this.

"Well then," I said in a low voice, "what have we here?"
(This is not working very well. I have had to type this a bunch of times! Its getting shorter each time 2! I hope it works this time and is still as interesting as my long ones were)

Nari sat a bit further from us staring unblinkingly up at the moon. I agreed with Hirith. I so loved Caldirion's company. Hirith stiffened and looked at the both of us. We listened carefully and heard a woman's footsteps. Hirith pulled his hood up to cover his elegantly weaved crown and I did the same. Caldirion and Nari pulled theirs up to. The minutes passed and the human stood before us.

"Well then," she said, "what have we here?"

"Continue onward human." Hirith commanded.

"Three elves and a nymph all alone." she whispered loud enough for us to hear. "Slaves running away? Arent you afraid I might report you to the king."

"We will be long gone from here by the time you reach the city." I spoke up.

"Yes...but that doesnt mean he isnt searching for you. Yes, I know who you four are. I'm not your ordinary stupid human. Prince- or should I say King Hirith Greenleaf of Mirkwood and Lothlorien, Princess Ann Greenleaf of Mirkwood and Lothlorien, Nari Afireiel last female foreseer of nymphs, and last but certainly not least Caldirional slave missing in action." She laughed.

I glared at her threateningly. She was a very clever, cunning human. It was obvious she had grown up with elves, nymphs, and dwarves as slaves. I lowered my hood. She knew what was the use of hiding anyway? Hirith kept his up and Nari and Caldirion lowered theirs.

"Are you the same human filth who thinks that their worth exceeds that of an elf's or nymph's?" I asked angrily shaking from head to toe.

Hirith stepped before me and shot a warning look. He did not want attention placed on me. If it was kept on him he believed I was all the more safe. I could not believe that. I glared at him then back at the human.

"Not exactly." She smirked. "How about a bargain?"

"Of what purpose?" Caldiron spoke up.

She smiled this time with a strange look, "Of freedom."

Her eyes rested on Hirith's confused handsome face, waiting for a reply.

"Go on."

I stepped closer to Caldirion to hide where my hand was reaching. The closest was my sword. One wrong word and I would pull it out and point it at the human. Caldirion seemed to have the same idea with a bitter expression. If all humans were the same he would not think to kindly of them. The way he was treated as a slave. I looked at his face to see if he was holding any reckless hate. No, he was in totaly control. I smiled. Hirith began to speak with the human.
I was still staring up at the moon. Whoever it was had dissapeered, and I had sent my brother somewhere he would be safe.

I was trying to see something, but wasn't having much luck. I was about to give up when I saw myself...kissing someone. I tried to push the vision out of my head, but I couldn't help lingering on it. I left that vision and went to another. Aragond was standing on his throne, laughing like a mad man while a small group stood defiantly before him. I saw something else, a small girl falling from a cliff, but not hitting the water. An eagle had grabbed her. I didn't know what it was, but I felt something more signifigant about the last vision. I snapped back to reality finally.

Um, I first have a question. Isn't Crouton's character Nari with Hirith, Ann & Caldirion? Cuz Crouton's additions don't fit that scenario (which I realized that I first messed up -sorry about that). Anyway, here is my solution to make this all less confusing. We'll just say that Nari IS with Hirith, Ann & Caldirion.

Ok, that's all. Now for my addition...

~Calidiron~

I saw Ann's wavering glance wash over me. I knew the fear that she felt; I knew she thought there was a stirring fury within me, but I was determined to not let that truth show. I remained steady and controlled as Hirith began to speak to the human, his own control easing my anger.

"What freedom do you offer, stranger?" Hirith inquired boldly. "You seem to know us, but why should we trust you when we do not even know your name?"

The woman smirked at this and explained, "My name is Nyx sen Bowman. My father works closely with the king in Gondor."

"Aragond is not a true king. He rules the land, yes, but at the expense of the people of Middle Earth. He does not deserve the respect and following of a brave and honest leader," I voiced, my tone filling with anger. Ann surprised me as she loosened her grip from her weapon and gently laid her hands upon my shoulders in an effort to calm me down.

Nyx stood, an expression of hate carved into the lines of her face. "I can not offer the same freedom to you yet, Caldirion. You are still property of King Aragond. Come with me to Gondor and I shall see what I can do."

"He belongs to no one!" Nari exclaimed with deep fury in her voice. "King Aragond owns no one but himself!"

"Very well," Nyx responded as she gripped the hilt of her sword. "I suppose we shall have to do this the hard way."

"Wait!" Ann spoke out. "There must be another way. First, tell us of this bargain of freedom. Please, let us cooperate and not fight."

"What say you, Nyx sen Bowman? Can we behave as adults and discuss this?" Hirith asked somewhat tauntingly.

Nyx eyed him with hate as she answered, "That was the bargain. You freedom for Caldirion. I was informed that his return was of the utmost importance."

"So, there is no other way?" Ann questioned in despair, her hands moved from my shoulders to my arms in an effort to keep me safe.

"That is the only option." Nxy replied coldly. Then she turned in disgust to Hirith. "What say you to that?"
I looked at Hirith then dropped my eyes and shook my head. The letter had told me, it would help Da even more, but I couldn't bring myself to continue with the bargain. What I knew of my own history, my own heritage argued against it.

"No," I said suddenly, holding up a hand. "I'm wrong. There is another option." I stepped back and rested a hand on her quiver, appraising the slaves before me. "I am not your typical human. I am a philosopher and a scholar and a bit of common sense tells me that one cannot do much against four."

"So, human," the lord Hirith said slowly before me, "what is your bargain?"

"I, as I said before, am a scholar. I travel and have travelled throughout these lands. My bargain is such: I will not tell those at Gondor of your where abouts or even of your existance. In fact, I will even send a letter to put them on the wrong path. In return, I want to see Lothlorien." I could see an expression in their eyes and added, "I am no woman of Gondor. I am a woman of Dale. And if you know your history then you know what that means." I looked pointedly at Hirith and Ann.

"You?" Ann said incredulously. "Why would we let an human into our homeland. You who make slaves out of our people. You who think you are better than us." She spat out the last few words. "You must be joking."

"Slaves? And why are you slaves, Lady? When King Aragon first made slaves out of you what did you do? Nothing. You never called on your old allies...you never fought. You were led meekly away like lambs." I shook my head. "And so you are just as guilty as us humans. Yes, I call you slaves, but I have known nothing else in my lifetime."

I winced at my slight rebuke. I was never very good at diplomacy. Well, human diplomacy anyway. But I just wanted a chance to study Lothlorien, not make friends. Or enemies though.

Caldirion sneered. "I was a slave in Gondor, as you know. I've seen what you people do. How can you justify that?"

I cocked my head at the elf. I was surprised he hadn't heard my name before, whispered among the guards. Nyx, the wayward daughter of the house of Bowman. I heard she bites the heads of swallows just to see if they can make her fly....I heard she sold her soul to the barrow wights in return for a peak inside their graves. I had heard them...and Da had too. But that wasn't the point. I shrugged in response, "It's the way of the world. Now, do we have a bargain?"
(Sorry I took so long! I want to drag this problem I'm coming up with out if thats ok with everyone. I was thinking they could all get split up for a while you know.)

Hirith did not want a fight of any kind. He agreed to the bargain and settled down by the warm fire. Caldirion was quiet and seemed bothered by the human's presence.

"What is your name?" I asked.

"Nyx Sen Bowman." She answered.

"Of the house of Bard?" Hirith asked interested.

"Yes..." She said while nodding.

After a long while of waiting for it to go completely dark finally someone fell asleep. Nari not far away was spread out on a blanket dreaming of something that gave her a smile.

"Are you two...courting?" Nyx asked looking at Caldirion and I.

"No. As you may know," I said bitterly, "he was a slave but when we met he joined us. That is why we made this bargain with you."

"I wouldnt have said anything about him to start with." She said.

I stood up quickly and grabbed my weapons. Hirith looked up at me and shook his head.

"It's to late to go exploring Ann." He said.

"I just want to have a look around." I said waiting for his nod.

"I'll go as well." Caldirion said standing up quickly and following me into the darkness.

We were quiet the entire time. After about an hour we decided to start back.

"Hirith seems-" Caldirion stopped suddenly.

"What?" I asked alarmed.

"Listen."

I paused to listen as carefully as possible. There were shouts coming from our camp. I could hear Hirith shouting and struggling.

"Hirith!" I whispered.

"Wait Ann!" Caldirion tried calling me back but I was running as fast as I could toward the camp. "Ann! Dont go running in! Wait!"

I jumped from behind a tree drawing my sword. Five large men ran at me and tackled me to the ground. I killed one quickly but my sword was knocked from my hand and my weapons were out of reach. The men pulled me to my feet and held tightly, two to each arm.

Hirith, Nyx, and Nari were bound at their wrists and ankles. Hirith looked angry with me and shook his head. The men pushed me toward what must have been the captain. He wore red robes and carried and thick heavy sword.

"Well, well, well. Looks like Prince Hirith was lying after all. You were with him the whole time...he'll be punished for that." The captain said I closed my eyes and opened them slowly.

"Hirith's sister...the two last elven royal heirs..." He laughed wickedly. "A nymph...of important family and a very intelligent human."

"Take notes!" He shouted to a small man behind him. "The human girl shall be taken to the king. He will deal with her. The elves will be split up and sold to higher class families with...strict rules. The Nymph...will be questioned then sold for the highest you can pay for a nymph!"

I was beginning to panic. I had been to reckless. I could have helped save my brother and the human and Nari. I lost my chance. The only one left was Caldirion but we were to be split up and sold in different towns. What could he do then?

(I'm going to skip forward a bit but thats because I'm bored, you guys dont have to)

******

I stood in a barred cage on a platform in the middle of town. My weapons and clothing were bundled together out of my reach. They would go to the person who would buy me. I was wearing white slaves clothing that every slave wore. It was small and short to make it easier to work in. I grabbed the bars and yanked helplessly.

People stopped and crowded around poking me and pushing me through the bars. I wondered if Hirith and the others were ok. The Captains 2nd in command was taking prices as high as they would go.

"To expensive for me." I heard.

"She could have a lot of work in her. I need that." I heard another say.

I would have shouted and told them all what I thought if I was not so afraid of the punishment. I was scared, I hated it showing it but the truth is I was highly afraid.

"Thats a lot to spend on just one elf...a royal? Really? maybe not so much then. Well...I'll take her. Wait until my friends hear I have a royal elf working at our house!" Said a loud man.

He was heavy and large with the biggest muscles I've ever seen in a human. I backed into the corner of the slim cage. The 2nd in command entered and tied a rope to the bonds around my wrists. The man paid the 2nd in command and took the rope. I struggled and pulled but the man was so powerful it was like trying to removed a mountain from where it stood. He yanked and I stumbled forward.

"Come on, come on. Lots of work for you. You're the first elf I've got but dont worry I've got plenty for you to do." He chuckled malisciously.

I glared wanting to spit in his face. I felt like an animal. I was sold, sold to race I hated most. I felt defensless and worthless. Sold.
Nari was sitting around, giving vague riddle like answers to the questions she was being asked. Finally, the men questioning her gave up and she was dragged out onto the street.

They said the price they were wanting for her, and a lot of the buyers seemed to be in an outrage. "I wouldn't pay that much for a nymph..you could get an elf at some places for that price!" Yelled an old woman.

"Ah, but this one is a seer..and not bad looking if I do say so myself." Sneered the auctioneer, looking her up and down. Nari was getting rather angry. Then she saw the little nymph from earlier peeking out from behind who had to be her brother. Nari gave him a desperate look, and he smiled at her. He dissapeared into the crowd.

Then a man with dark brown hair and evil looking eyes came out of the crowd. "I'll take her.." He sneered.

He grabbed Nari and led her away. Grabbing her roughly around the waist, he bound her and threw her on top of a horse. He then blindfolded her and they left. However, after about fifteen minutes of travel, they stopped. There was some kind of commotion and someone grabbed her and took off her blindfold. It was the older nymph from earlier..and his little sister.

"We don't have much time.." He said, and grabbed her hand before pulling her into the woods. She could hear the outraged screams of the man, but they died away after awhile. She then turned to the man who had saved her.

"You saved me...thank you.." She smiled softly.
"Don't worry about it "smiled Angeless running his hands through his hair changing it back to its shimmering black look.

His eyes that had been brown in the market now returned to being red. His sister was smiling at the nymph with a bemused lookon her face.

"Kari Don't stare it's not polite "smiled Angeless putting his hand over her eyes for a second.

"Sorry Jing "she said giving him a very cute look.

"Jing? That's a odd name "asked Nari?

"Nickname...I'm Angeless and this is my little sister Kari "laughed Angeless as Kari stuck her tounge out at him.

"Dwarf "giggled Kari.

"Hobbit "smiled Angeless as Kari looked defeated.

Looking over at Nari Angeless saw her looking puzzled.

"Something we do...a little game of her's "he smiled picking up his sister and sitting her on his shoulders.
I had been released almost immediatly as I had been recognized. After all, they would have to release the daughter of the kings architect. And it was only Nyx, consorting again with odd people, most likely in persuit of knowledge.

So, here I sat, at the table with my father, dressed appropriately for court.

"Daughter, what were you doing? I know you recieved my letter. Why didn't you arrive on time?" He closed his eyes, "And why were you found with slaves?" he added tiredly.

"The people are used to me doing odd things," I responded, taking some grapes from the tray a nymph slave offered. We didn't keep elf slaves as most rich houses did. Da strictly forbade it, and I was proud of him in that way honoring the old alliance between Dale and Lothlorien. We didn't keep dwarves either, but that was more of a way of thank you to the dwarves for providing homes to our people after Dale fell the second time. My half sisters were never fond of this arrangement and I wondered how long they would abide by his rules. "And as for me being late, well," I chewed on a grape, "my feet were muddy. I had to wash them off."

Da looked stern for an instant, then a smile creased his face. "You have gotten good at not answering a direct question."

I grinned back, "I know."

Da looked at me for a moment then pushed back his chair. "I'm going to turn in, I will see you in the morning. Please don't scamper off in the night, you've already caused enough trouble."

"I won't Da." I rose and kissed his forehead.

After he left I sat long into the night, sipping wine with a book open under my hands, but left unread. I had come so close to be able to see Lothlorien. So close! But...I felt off kilter because that truely wasn't bothering me as much as it should have been. I pushed that thought out of my mind.

The elves and the nymph had been sold into slavery, my only chance at Lothlorien gone. And the elves...I felt the binds of lineage and history tugging at me. I could help them. I had connections and I had power in this world of men. I could find out where they were being kept and find ways to free them. It would take time and I would have to lie low, but I could help.

I smiled and sipped my wine. Da wouldn't be happy, but that was nothing new. The only question now was where to begin.
The man's wife decided to drag me around with her today. It was a vacation compared to the hell I went through the past 3 days since I was "bought."

The crowd was full of people. It was almost impossible for me to keep up. I was weak and tired my eyes drooping and fluttering helplessly. Then I saw it. A face in the crowd. Caldirion's face looking at me, right into my eyes. I was stunned and could go no further.

"Come on! Move it!" The woman pulled the rope and I stumbled further, losing sight of what I thought I saw.

Was it my imagination? Had I become so desperate that I begun to hallucinate. I looked for him while being pulled along by the woman.

(Sorry So Short!)
Nari smiled and looked at the two of them. She missed her little brother, she had no clue what had happened to him. She sighed sadly and looked up at the stars.

"Jiiiiing." Kari sighed with an exasperated voice.

"What, hobbit?" Angeless asked.

"You told me its impolite to stare! You're being hypotricitical..hypocriticicile..hypoicltrickle..hypo..hypo..." The little girl was getting rather agitated.

"Hypocritical." Nari offered with a smile.

~Caldirion~

I watched in horror as five men tackled Ann and bound her wrists and ankles like they had done to Hirith, Nari, and Nyx. I knew not what to do, but realized that I had to remain hidden because I could not risk getting caught. Careful to be silent, I leapt up into one of the trees and listened in as the men pushed Ann forward, and as a man in red robes approached her.

Well, well, well. Looks like Prince Hirith was lying after all. You were with him the whole time; he'll be punished for that." The man spoke firmly, clearly signaling that he was their captain. He then took a look at the group his men had captured and evaluated them carefully. "Hirith's sister, the two last elven royal heirs; a nymph of important family, and a very intelligent human."

Then turning to one of his men, he shouted, "Take notes!" He turned to face Ann and the others again as he continued. "The human girl shall be taken to the king. He will deal with her. The elves will be split up and sold to higher class families with...strict rules. The Nymph...will be questioned and then sold for the highest you can pay for a nymph!"

At this proclamation, the men laughed wickedly and began to haul Hirith, Ann, Nari, and Nyx away. My brow furrowed, I tried to decide what action I should take. I could go to the king's castle and get hold of Nyx, but I knew that would be like suicide. The only other choice I had was to try to track down where Nari, Hirith and Ann were sold and taken to. As unreasonable as it sounded, I felt it was my only chance to saving them.

* ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ *

Knowing that I could not reveal my race, I pulled my hood up to hide my ears and face. Then with some reluctance, I entered the market area of Minas Tirith, where I had been working as a slave not too long ago. Ardelia was here, and I longed to see her again, but I could not bring her into this chaos. So instead, I went in search of another that I knew resided here now: Ann.

I had managed to arrive the end of the slave auctions and caught a glimpse of the man who purchased Ann. I knew I had seen him while working in the market area and figured I would be able to get in touch with Ann there. I heard that a nymph had been sold at a particularly high price, and guessed that it was Nari. But I was too late to see to whom she now belonged.

I had been coming into Minas Tirith for three days in hopes that I would finally see Ann. As I was walking down the crowded streets, I accidentally bumped into someone. I turned to see it was a woman, and her ragged clothing proved that she was a slave.

"Forgive me," I said softly as I helped her up. She slowly stood and possessed an expression of genuine surprise. She did not expect kindness from anyone in any type of form.
And then it hit me. "Ardelia..." I muttered.

At this a smile spread across her face. She opened her mouth to speak, but quickly closed it. "Caldirion, what are you doing here?" She inquired as the smile left her face. "It is not safe for you to be here!"

"I know," I answered honestly. "But I have things to take care of."

Ardelia looked up at me, tears welling in her eyes. "Just be careful."

"I will," I replied as I fought the urge to hug her. Ardelia then began to walk away, but before she could, I came up from behind her and whispered in her ear, "I will come back for you."

I heard Ardelia stiffle her sobs as she returned to her work, and as I walked back into the streets of enemies. My eyes darted through every nook and cranny of the area, desperate to find some sign that Ann was here. And then I saw a sign, or rather, I saw her.

She was with human woman, who was obviously one of her owners, and she looked dreadfully tired. I began to walk a little ways toward her, in order to make eye contact for I wanted her to know that I was here for her.

I halted in my steps as Ann's pale, blue eyes met my gaze. She seemed stunned and stopped in her tracks. A feeling of hope came over me, but it was pushed away as the woman shouted at Ann and pulled on a rope that was bound to her arm.

As they turned away, I knew this was my only chance. I took a deep breath as made my way through the crowd and began to follow Ann and the woman.

"Yer Thats the word!! "smiled Kari.

"Oh I get it. So you team up against me then do you "laughed Angeless tickling his sister.

"It's strange I haven't seen a brother and sister get on aswell as you two "smiled Nari.

"We've been alone for along long time. So we have to stick togther. Although there are time when I wish she was older and didn't get me into as much trouble "Laughed Angeless tickling Kari.

Nari was watching him. He got on well with kids that was just the way he was. A big kid trapped in a adults body.

"Do you give? "asked Angeless pausing for a second.

"I give I give "laughed Kari as he stopped tickling her.

"Good. Now who's hungry "asked Angeless?

"Just a bit "Smiled Nari.

"Me oh oh oh Me. I'm Hungry "danced Kari as she bounced around him.

He smiled and Opened his mouth. He seemed to be mouthing something but she couldn't hear what it was. Straining her ears she caught it.

"Da ras ku am rana. Da ku et ala sina. La ray ah tu em le pas "he was saying something that sounded nymphish but it was different.

What ever he was saying it had words of power in it. It was like he was calling on something from long ago. A chunk of meat appeared and so did some fruit. He fell to one knee slightly out of breath.

"Dinner is served "smiled Angeless picking up a apple and bitting into it.
I sat, cross legged on a chair in the library, a small pair of golden spectacles perched on my nose, perusing a list of favors owed, when my half sister sat down across from me.

Her hair, the color of honey, was strung with sapphires that matched her eyes. She and her sister were the daughters of my late stepmother and were related to me only by marriage not by blood. And they were Gondorian to their bones. She gave me a conspiratorial look and lowered her voice.

"Cassandra and I bought a slave," she said, eyes sparkling.

I looked at her over the rims over my glasses and replied simply, "Good for you."

"No, no. We bought and elf slave." I froze. "Yes, and Da can't do anything because we paid for him with our own money. He is ours. Da doesn't know how we have suffered going to the banquets at other houses. They have elf slaves and we are denied that luxury. We are one of the wealthiest houses in Gondor and we never had one...until now!" I blinked at her, a knot of feeling working its way through the pit of my stomach.

"I know," she continued after I didn't say anything, "it's only one, but soon, hopefully will have more as is befitting to our house."

"Tiana, why are you telling me this?" I said exasperated, taking off my glasses. "I don't care. I really don't."

"But don't you want to see! I mean...he cost a pretty penny. And you have been places...savage places where these slaves run free." I raised an eyebrow. "I was thinking you could help us communicate, you know..."

I cut her off with a harsh laugh. "Elves are highly intelligent and he has probably heard and understood every word you have said," Her rosy cheeks got redder, "so you shouldn't need my help communication with him.

"Well you should at least take a look at him," I snorted but nodded. I was, after all, curious as to who this elf was. My half sister clapped her hands and thanked me. "Good, Cassandra is bringing him over and then we are going to go shopping and show him off. You can come..." I violently shook my head. "Alright then."

The door opened and Cassandra came in with an elf I knew. I rose in surprise at the sight of Hirith and stopped any words of greeting from passing my lips just in time. This was such luck, one of the four had been delievered into my lap. I had to recover quickly, Cassandra and Tiana were awaiting a comment on their purchase.

"A good choice," I said smoothly, "and on second thought I will have you...or your slave rather do something for me while I'm out. I picked up a note I had written to Sed, the candlemaker, to keep and eye out for the others and inform me when he saw them. I quickly scribbled a hasty note I'm working on the situation...doing my best...have faith...Please don't do anything stupid and slipped it inside Sed's paper. I hoped Hirith had seen me and would manage to get the hidden note. "Drop this off at the candlemaker's for me would you. Or you slave rather, now that you have one."

"Of course!" Tiara said happily, slipping the note in a basket which Hirith carried.

I smiled, "Thank you, I must get back to my reading."
The next few hours were like a strange dream to me. I had seen Caldirion's face in the crowd I was sure of it. I searched while being pulled along. The woman was following a man hidden under a cloak and hood further from the crowds until we were in a small alley way. The man removed his hood. I should have guessed. Caldirion was excellent. He was marvelous! I would never have thought of it! He smiled as the woman glared noticing his pointed ears.

"What? Who are you? What about that you were selling me?" She asked quickly then added, "slave."

He was calm but his eyes clouded over for a small bit. Then he remembered what he was doing and pulled out his sword.

"I wont hurt you. Just dont make a sound." He said slashing at her end of the ropes.

Caldirion was much more merciful than I would have been. I would have wanted revenge but I knew now was not the time nor place. I grabbed my things from the bundle I was hauling for the woman and threw the rest to the ground. I put my cloak on and before covering my head looked at Caldirion.

"Thank you!" I said gratefully.

I then did something I had done to only Hirith before. I pulled Caldirion into a hug and kissed his cheek.

"We better hurry." He said after a while.

"Gaurds! SLAVES! ELF SLAVES!! I"VE BEEN ATTACKED!" The lady screamed probably pretending to be seriously injured.

"Lets get out of this place!" I said smiling.

Caldirion began to run. I followed him but being weak fell behind. He turned every few seconds making sure I was still behind him. There was no way I would leave him. An army could not stop me from following him...to freedom. How had Caldirion lived as a slave for so long? How was it possible?
Nari smiled to herself and ate her apple. Kari was running in circles around everything and Angeless was watching both of them warily. Smiling, Nari pulled a flute out of her bag and played it quietly. Angeless watched her, knowing only nymphs and elves could hear it. A flower was swaying in time to the music and Kari was dancing around in circles.

Stopping, she noticed Angeless was looking at her strangely.
Diago the marshman folded the the letter and stuck in the corner in the candle flame. He watched it burn to bits that disappated on the wind.

A letter from Nyx.

"Guards! Elf Slaves! I've been attacked!" A lady was shouting at the top of her lungs. The marshman guessed these were the people Lady Nyx had been referring too. As the guards came around the corner he pointed in the wrong directions and bellowed, "They went that way!"

"Aye, I saw them too!"

That was from Sed the candlemaker. He knew Nyx as well. They nodded to each other and went about their buisness.
~
I paced the library thinking. I hadn't seen Hirith in days and it was just as well. People might get suspicious that we knew each other. But no, I was working my network within Gondor, calling on favors. I only hoped I would get to see Lothlorien after all this.

If not...I would run away to Dale...a land that no longer existed.

I shook my head. I still had a few of my most precious favors on hold. I wouldn't use those unless absolutely necesary. Two of the companions had been seen and the guards had been diverted. Now I just needed information to see if other of my network had found them or seen them.
The walls surrounding the castle were tall. Once word had gotten out, to the king especially, that I had gotten away with the help of a mysterious stranger the castle gates were closed and locked tight. Caldirion climbed down from the short tower he used to look around.

"The city is large but my eyes can see that there is no easy way out. We are going to have to lie low. Watch men are beginning to patrol the city now." Caldirion said.

"Caldirion...I...I...thank you." I said.

He smiled then chuckled a bit. I looked at his face searching for what he found so funny. He pointed to a peice of yellowing parchment. It had a picture with words scriblled around the face. I plucked it from the wall laughing a bit.

"I think I'll keep this." I said folding up the picture of Caldirion.

"Walking around with an angry picture of my head...." He smiled. "Brilliant."

"Isnt it." I smiled.

We went quiet for some time before I stared up into Caldirion's eyes. He looked back confused.

"D-do...do you think..." I stopped shaking my head. "Did you see where they took my brother?"

~Caldirion~

I looked into Ann's eyes wanting desperately to have the answer she was hoping for. Hanging my head in slight defeat, I murmurred, "I'm afraid not see where Hirith was taken. I did hear that Nari had been sold, but I did not find out who bought her."

"That's alright," Ann replied thoughtfully. "You couldn't have possibly tracked all three of us down. And to think, you chose to rescue me first." She paused, turning her gaze away from mine. Finally, she attempted to continue. "Cal..Caldirion, why did you decide to...well, what I'm trying to ask is...why me?"

I understood what she was trying to decipher from my actions. I had chosen to save her first, and not because I thought it would be easiest. Biting my lip slightly, I replied, "I think we should try to track Nari down. She was sold not long after you, or so I hear amongst the chatter of the interested buyers."

"Yes, of course," she responded with disapointment in her voice; I had not addressed her question at all. "It's sickening, really. All the more reason for us to work quickly."

Nodding, I placed my hand upon Ann's shoulder and began to usher her away from the wall. It was not safe now that scouts would be patrolling the city in search of us. As we made our way through the coming darkness of the night, I paused Ann for a moment, pulled her blonde hair back from her ear, and gently whispered, "And just so you know, I had my reasons."

That was all I had to say, for a slight smile spread accross Ann's face as we continued on our way to track down Nari and Hirith.

Sorry so short! My apologies!
~Shakin Aiken
"How long have you been running? "he asked her quietly?

"not long...how about you?"she asked?

"Nearly ten years now "he sighed as he listened to Kari hum.

He smiled and fell quiet.

"Does she remember your... "she asked?

"Parents? I don't know...she remembers little things about them but she was very young when it happened...She remembers lots of noise, fire all around her, the smoke on the air...and me jumping through the flames and picking her up. Then me running with her in my arms to get out of our home. If I could change all this I would. Just so I know nothing will happen to her if I'm gone "he sighed.

"You really care about her...don't you "asked Nari?

"She's all I have left...also I'm all she has left...I always wondered what would have happened if I had been there to help my father fight "he sighed clenching his fists.

"Do you know what happened to him? "asked Nari?

"I never found his body. His sword was there but he wasn't...everyone butcherd. Women...children They didn't care. Nobody was an innocent in their eyes "he sighed as tears began to build up in his eyes.

He closed his eyes and stuffed his feeling down and dried his eyes.
I smiled, unable to hold it back. He ahd a reason, though I had no idea what that reason was I was content. Content with his answer. Why was I thinking it was more than coincidence anyway? We walked through the city searching for information. The only information we received was that Nari was sold and stolen from him soon after. Hirith was only a name that people knew as the son of Legolas, captured and sold. We could find no more information.

It was the middle of the night now and it was pitch dark. I could barely see the castle wall beside me. I put my hand out to feel for it and sat down, leaning against it. Caldirion sat beside me and I leaned unconsciously against him.

"How did you do it?" I asked curiously.

"Do what?" He questioned thoughtfully.

"Survive as property. An object, a slave. Something that these humans have grown to love abusing." I said.

He was quiet for awhile, contemplating. I waited, knowing he was gathering his thoughts. My eyes began to droop slowly but I kept awake from pure interest.

"It wasnt easy." He finally started to explain.

I noticed the small frown on his face. I obviously had asked something more than I thought I had. I had gone deeper without realising that it could possibly dig up memories that were unwanted. I stopped him and gave him a half smile.

"I was a...a slave for a few days but you...I mean I dont know anything about your history and I dont want to...well I mean...." I could have hit myself, I never stumble for words.

I took a deep breath, "You dont have to tell me. I was just curious. You may not want to remember anything about it."
Nari looked at him sadly. She inched a bit closer to him and touched his cheek. He didn't open his eyes, and sighed heavily. "Sleep.." She whispered to him in the nymphish (?????) language. He opened his eyes drowsily.

"I don't sleep...i have terrible dreams and Kari will be alone."

"This is a dreamless sleep. I see nothing and I can't feel any threatening auras. I can put a protective charm on this area. Now rest.." She smiled.

"But I dun wan.." He started to whine before he fell over, his head landing in her lap. She smiled, and Kari giggled profusely.

Nari smiled tenderly at him and brushed a tear off his face as she started to feel drowsy herself. Kari kind of trudged over started poking at a berry bush.

Nari found herself laying down at some point and before she knew it she was asleep.

_________

Nari woke up the next morning to find herself curled up to Angeless, with Kari passed out across them on her stomach with one of his arms across her back. His other arm was...wrapped around Nari's waist. His hand was entwined with one of hers and her other arm was limply at her side. Kari was the first one to wake up. Her giggling woke the other two up.

"fire bad.. tree pretty..dots.." Nari mumbled in her sleep.

~Caldirion~

"It's alright," I spoke calmly, taking a deep breath. I turned my gaze upward before continuing, in hopes that the right words would come to me from out of the sky. I chuckled slightly as I realized how silly that concept was, and slowly returned my attention to Ann. "I suppose it's better that I confront my past and memories, rather than keep them hidden."

"Are you sure?" Ann asked politely, her voice still showing concern. "I don't want you to if you-"

"It seems like it's all gone by so fast," I began, cutting her off. "I wasn't born a slave, though. I was sold into slavery after my family and friends were either enslaved against their will or killed. Unfortunately, I was purchased by those who were out to find slaves for King Aragond. I did make one close friend along the way. Her name is Ardelia. She always looked out for me like she was my older sister. How I wish she could've been the one to escape. It troubles me that we are here now, and I have the chance to help her leave this life. But knowing her, she would not do it. She would say it was too risky."

"I'm terribly sorry," Ann remarked, a sadness now dwelling upon her face and within her light, blue eyes.

"It's funny, really," I thought aloud. "If I hadn't been a slave and gone through the suffering, I don't even know if I would have the views I have on slavery today."

"What do you mean?" Ann questioned as she sat up a little, her back still resting against the castle wall.

"If I had never experienced slavery, maybe I..." I tried to explain, my voice wavering slightly, "maybe I wouldn't have cared either way. Maybe I wouldn't have had the passion to stop it. I couldn't bare it if I was like that."

"Well, you don't have to worry," Ann interjected. "Because you're not, and because you do care."

"You know what else is funny about all of this?" I inquired, a grin appearing across my face.

"No, what?" Ann asked with a look that seemed to question my sanity.

"If I hadn't been a slave, I don't think I would've met you and Hirith," I answered. Gently I continued, "And I definitely couldn't bare that."

Angeless opened his eyes alittle and looked at her. He shrugged and ran his hand through his hair.

"I'm not even going to ask what that was about "he sighed rubbing his eyes.

"Meh...go back to sleep...Me still sleepy "huffed Kari.

"Can't I'm awake now... "he sighed.

He tried to sit up but couldn't as his sister was still slayed out over him.

"Get off me... "he giggled.
I smiled, "Neither could I."

I slept well considering the circumstances. I was being shaken awake and opened my eyes to see Caldirions.

"Hate to wake you but we have to go. Sunrise is soon and we'd be vulnerable here in the light." He said.

I stood up and stretched out. Suddenly I stopped, frozen. An idea a strange idea but it could work. Caldirion looked at me strangely.

"What is it?" He asked.

"The human. Nyx. Isnt she a descendant of Bard?" I asked.

"Yes."

"She would have resources. She may know where Hirith and Nari are." I said.

"Its worth a try. We can be there by mid-day tomorrow." Caldirion said.

"A day and a halfs journey. We'd have to get out of this town and travel through the forest." I said.

Caldirion nodded and smiled, suddenly filled with excitement. We'd leave the towan and sleep under the sky tonight and by noon the next day we may discover where our companions were!
Nari sleepily opened her eyes and tried to sit up. However, she couldn't because she was in a tangled mess of other people. And Kari wasn't wanting to wake up. Kari sighed as she tried to disentangle herself, without much luck. Kari eventually rolled off of them and onto her back, where she immedeately fell asleep again..

Nari got up and smiled. She stretched and went to go look for some water so she could wash her face. Angeless picked up his sister and layed her on a softer spot, smilng affectionately at her. "Little imp.." he said as he brushed her bangs away.

Nari wandered away to a little stream and splashed some water on her face. She felt groggy that morning..she'd probably have another vision soon. She groaned under her breath and stepped out into a calm still pool of water. "I guess this will work. She closed her eyes and lost herself. This vision was too much..it was a fire..somewhere with a lot of people. People were running everywhere, screaming. She opened her eyes and they rolled back into her head as she fell with a splash into the water.

He stood there for a second looking around after hearing a noise. Picking Kari up he listened to the plants. He felt something click and he sprinted off in the dirrection Nari had gone. He had covered the distance in very little time even while holding his sister. When he saw Nari face down in the stream he dropped his sister and skidded down the bank of the stream and into the water next to Nari. He pulled her head up and out of the water and splashed himself with more water than he'd meant to. Nari breathed in deeply and jumped splashing water into his face. Kari was saying something rude to her brother in nymphish and he was startled that she even new how to say any of the things she'd just yelled at him.

"Hey what have I told you...don't swear. You know how much I hate you swearing "he said softly.

"Well you shouldn't throw me around when I'm sleeping "shouted Kari before skipping down to the river and dipping her face under.

I refolded the letter and stuck the edge in the nearby candle. The paper caught and burned slowly in my hand.

So they had escaped, Ann and Caldirion at least, and safely. I sighed and removed the tome that had been sitting in my lap. But how long would they remain away? They were still without the nymph and Ann was without her brother. Hopefully they would not be foolish enough to return here...

"But I would if I were in Ann's place," I reminded myself aloud. I took the ashes from the letter and tossed it to the wind. It was time to leave.

I slipped on a pair of boots and grabbed a pack and strode down a stairway and up a long hall.

"My sister requires her slave," I told the armed guards at the bolted door to Hirith's meager, poor chambers.

The guards eyed each other and looked at the wayward daughter of the house of Bowman. "M...my lady. If you sister wants her slave shouldn't she come herself? And I don't think your father would approve..."

I drew myself up to my full height and made my voice slice through their words, "Are you questioning the daughter of Bandon of Bowman? And what possibly would I want with my sisters slave?" I made my lip curl and then lowered my voice. "I know you've heard stories about me. Many stories of magics I've learned, skills I've gained...and I can promise that not all of those rumors are false."

The guards traded glances and swallowed and withdrew Hirith from his chambers. I tied a rope around his hands, praying that he'd understand what I was doing and tugged. "Come along slave, my sister has need of you."

Out of sight of the guards and I picked up the pace to the stables and spoke to him in a low voice. "Stay quiet and trust me, we're not out of the city yet." He didn't say anything and I couldn't guess what he was thinking. I hoped he didn't feel as if I were betraying him. I wouldn't, he and the rest of them were my ticket to Lothlorien.

I mounted a horse in the stable and tied the other end of the rope to the pommel of the saddle and made my way toward one of the gates to the city. The guards stopped me immediately suspicious. They would not be as easy as my father's guards. These guards were loyal to the king and the king alone.

"Halt, where are you taking him."

Forgive me Da I thought to myself. "I have authorization to take this slave outside the city walls to serve his majesty in another residence."

A guard leered, "I don't believe you girly."

I pulled a letter from a small pouch and handed it to him. Max was the best forger I knew and I hope the guards would buy it.

They looked from me, to the letter, and back to Hirith. One licked his lips and neither of them moved.

"Do you dare defy the kings order?" I said in a loud voice, hand edging toward my bow. They locked eyes with me and finally moved aside. I heard the gates shut behind me and we moved off into the night.
The sun was slowly rising. I stretched and yawned, watching Caldirion from the corner of my eye. Finally I turned to him not sure what to say exactly.

"When we find my brother and Nari and go to Lothlorien what will you do there?" I asked unable to sheild the worry.

If I knew my brother then I knew he'd ask Caldirion to help him with the army we were trying to cluster. He'd ask his to be a captain! My thoughts turned to what I would do. Hirith wouldnt let me fight thats for sure. I would not let him tell me no. I would go with Caldirion into battle as even the other creatures. The nymphs had women fighting. Surely elves would do the same.

"I'm not sure. I want to help as much as I can." He sighed.

"Hirith and I," I made sure I was included, "Will be going off to war and I'm sure he'll ask you to be a captain of some sort. You dont have to say yes."

I wanted him to hide away until things were through, so I could know he'd be safe. I knew that was wrong to wish for. It was his own choice. He would decide for himself.

"There's the city, just over those hills," Caldirion paused, "Look! It looks as if Nyx is taking Hirith somewhere! How did she come to possess him?"

I looked up. he was right, about half a mile away was Nyx leading Hirith by a rope. Hirith! He was submitting to this! What was he thinking!? Why didnt he attack her and get away? What was going on? I ran the full half mile and pulled out my sword. Hirith threw off the ropes and raised his hands to stop me. Nyx had planned this! Why had I doubted her?

Caldirion ran up us and smiled. I bowed my head and turned to Nyx.

"I apologize. I have not trusted you because you are human. I will not mistrust you again." I said shaking the hand she extended.

"Off to Lothlorien?" She asked.

I didnt answer because I was quickly being swept up into a grizzly hug from my brother. He twirled around and set me back to the ground.

"Its great to see you again," he started, "You are so foolish! You could have been killed, acting so rashly."

"I'm glad to see you alive as well." I smiled with a shrug.

"Are we off then?" Nyx asked.

(HEY! I have a question for everyone! I had originally made Hirith's character to add to the stories plot and for sorrow. I was going to have him killed off dramatically. Now I'm not so sure. If anyone thinks I should keep him and gives a good reason, I will. If not I'll still keep him awhile until the battle and then he'll die.)
Nari moaned a bit as she looked around. Angeless put his arms around her shoulders. "Are you alright?"

"I just had a terrible vision." She mumbled, twisting her fingers through her hair. Angeless stood up, and she tried to. However, she slipped, grabbing onto his shoulders for support. He caught her around the waist and pulled her up. They stared intently at each other for a few moments when..

"Helllooo!" kari yelled, almost in fits of giggles.
Angeless laughed and looked at his sister. He sighed and said something to her in old nymphish and she smiled and sat down on the grass.

"What did you say to her? "asked Nari?

"A simple but powerfull spell....calms the person down down "he sighed.

She looked at him as if to say 'you use magic on your sister?'.

"We should probably try to find your friends...I think they'll heading for Lothlorien. In any case we can find some shelter...and I can use my talents to help our kind...and not the humans "he sighed remembering what his duty was not so long ago.

He was forced into making swords, arrows, sheilds and armour. With his knowlege of metal he was forced to make weapons stronger than any mortal blade. That was why he was turned loose after making thousands of weapons. He had surved his purpose.

"I will make their swords shatter like the first frosts of winter...they will fall upon the ground like the waves on the beach "he sighed.
