Six elements, six sisters, six fights, and six points of view...~room for one more~
[Introduction]
Six sisters were born with powers over the elements. They were born with different views on everything. And they were born to fight. But their world is threatened and everything is crashing down around them. Can they put aside their differences and their fights and band together to save everything they've ever known and wanted?

You'll see.

~*~*~

By the way, my older sister (artemis91@writing.com) gave me permission to use this as a campfire and she's going to delete the interactive she had, but it isn't all the same characters.

~*~*~

These are the six sisters:

~Jacqueline (the Witch of the Night)(taken)

~Shae (Princess of the Air)(taken)

~Felicity (the Warrior of the Fire)(taken)

~Angelina (the Queen of the Light)(taken)

~Gwyneth (the Enchantress of the Forest)(taken)

~Morgaine (the Sorceress of the Water)(taken)

You can choose who you want or you can be another character. Other characters include:

~Katrina (the sisters cousin and a princess)(taken)

~Thomas (Jacqueline's old servant boy who ran away)(taken)

Those are the only other two characters that I can think of right now, but I'll add other charcters if I remember any. If you don't want to be any of those characters, then you can make up your own, but you have to send your info on your character to me. But hurry if you want to be in it. There's a limit of ten people in the campfire. So join.

Thanks!

~*~*~

So anyway, here are all the character bios for ya!

Personality: She isn't very loud, she likes peace and quiet. She tries to be serene. She makes friends easily, but once she finds out someone is hurting nature she becomes their worst enemy.

Other: Morgaine has the power over all things in the water. She has learned how to lessen the power of a tidal wave, but she hasn't been able to completely stop one.

***

Age: 18

Height: 5'6

Weight: 120

Personality: Angelina is sweet-natured and somewhat quiet. She can also be somewhat of a whiner. Loyal, thoughtful, and sincere are characteristics of hers.

Personality: Fee easily gets jealous of other people--even if what they have is something she doesn't want. She has a bad temper and can easily put herself in other people's shoes. As a result, she can usually predict how to make them mad and what bothers them and she uses it to her advantage. She doesn't care if what she says hurts people. On the contrary, she finds it kind of funny.

Other: Felicity has power over fire.

***

Name: Jacqueline

Nickname: None

Gender: Female

Age: 16

Height: 5' 3"

Weight: 115

Appearance: Jacqueline has extremely pale skin that doesn't burn or tan. She has long hair down to her waist that is so black it has a blue tint to it. Her eyes are a deep violet color that, in the right light, looks black - and Jacqueline is usually in the right light. She has a cold, untouchable beauty about her. Her body is slim and slightly curvy, with perfect posture. Jacqueline wears very conservative clothes, as she doesn't like to show off her body. She hates seeing slutty clothes on other people, and she is definitely not a hypocrite, so she wears mostly pants and long-sleeved shirts, usually black (she also doesn't like people looking at her like a peice of meat).

Personality: Jacqueline often comes off as cold and mysterious. She never really sets out to be mean to someone - she just doesn't care what she says, and she'll say what's on her mind. She's always composed and level-headed. She never looses her temper or lets her emotions take over her. On the contrary, she rarely shows her emotions. However, she does have a set of values - she'll never be mean to someone to the extent that it could scar them emotionally, and she will never hurt another person or animal for no reason. Jacqueline doesn't like to talk often, but when she does, you'll find that she is very sarcastic and has a good sense of humour, although it's extremely rare to hear her laugh.

Other: Jacqueline has power over the dark forces, but she is powerful enough to not let the dark forces consume her, as it so often happens to weaker people than her.

***

Name: Gwyneth

Nickname: Gwyn

Age: 15

Height: 5’10”

Weight: 107

Appearnace: Gwyneth is tall and thin. As the Enchantress of the Forest, she has dark brown hair that’s usually tied in a half-ponytail and green eyes. She generally wears flowing deep-coloured gowns. She has a kind face. Around her neck is a line-wrapped golden locket where she keeps the most powerful herbs from the forest.

Personality: She’s kind and shy. She respects all of her other sisters and refrains from insulting them. She prefers peace over fighting. She loves animals and everything that is natural. She is honest, for she rarely lies. She doesn’t like to brag and can be annoyed when others act arrogant.

***

Appearance: Shae is plain looking, but still pretty. She has light-tan skin with a small smatter of freckles across her nose and ash-blonde hair. She's skinny and has gray eyes

Personality: Shae is quiet and observant. She knows all over her sisters personalities perfectly and she can easily predict what they're going to do

Other: Shae has power over the air and the weather

***

Name: Katrina

Nickname: Kat

Age: 19

Height: 5'2

Weight: 101

Appearance: She is short and very thin, she looks frail but is not. She has long silver/blonde hair that runs down passed her waist. Her eyes are crystal blue and she has a lovely smile. She usually wears a long gown and a crown.

Personality: It depends on her mood. Sometimes she is playfull and prankster other times she is a well behave young lady. She is moody and is sweet. She is also frightened at takening by the idea of becoming a queen and sometimes distant.

Other: She is naturally strong of mind because of her future. She does not really have any powers and shewants to leave it at that.

***

Name: Thomas

Nickname: None

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Height: 6'1"

Weight: I'm not sure...

Appearance: He used to have white-blond hair down to his shoulders, usually pulled back
into a ponytail, and pale blue eyes. Now, because he was consumed - or nearly consumed -
he has black hair and black eyes. He's tall, and his body is lithe, toned from years of
swordplay and keeping fit, but not overly muscled. He is handsome, but in a cold way. His
face has always been slightly pale, but now it's almost pasty.

Personality: Thomas, when he was younger, was a generally happy child, although he did
give off a certain mysterious aura. He was nice and stood up for what he believed in.
However, he has always been ambitious. Now, because of his ambitions, he is closed off
completely and cold, unfeeling. He still doesn't hurt anyone, but he isn't exactly nice,
either. Thomas rarely looses his temper - he rarely shows any emotions at all. He is
closed off from the world. The person he opens up to most is Jacqueline, but that is only
the slightest amount, and you would only notice it when comparing between how he is with
other people and how he is with her.

Other: Thomas used to be Jacqueline's servant, friend, and student of magic, but he ran away last year and now he is trying to gain the Dark Thrown

***

Name: Coralie

Nickname: Cora

Age: 20

Height: 5'6

Weight: 120

Personality: Cora likes to keep to herself, as a true mistress of mayhem does. When she does make a 'friend' it has nothing to do with personality and everything to do with power. She is a manipulator, who knows her way around weak minds.

Appearance: While Cora is not vain she does take care of her appearance. She has midnight black hair that reaches the middle of her back, and even earth colored skin. Her eyes are gray, and always alert, though her features are rather attractive she has a permanent look of disgust on them, that makes the otherwise attractive...threatening.

Other: Because no villain is complete without a power, so to speak, and because she is not one of the sisters Cora has power over the minds of the weak; while her skills are something to be proud of the key here is they ONLY work on the weak.

***

Name: Lavinia

Nickname: Viny

Gender: Female

Age: 18

Height: 5'8"

Weight: 135

Appearance: She is very solidyly built, broad shoulders and muscles, very
manish and yet with an unmistakeable feminist side. Dark brown hair down to her
shoulders. She likes to wear loose clothing mainly black or earthy colours. She
looks very attractive in her own way.

Personality: Very tranquil and peaceful by nature but will start being
extremely vocal if she sees something that she doesn't agree with. She is often
seen as the leader although she is quite happy to sit back and let someone else
take complete control of a situation so long as she knows she has the
overridding decision. Because of her heritage, belonging with the queen and
king of a distant land, she has learned to take this leadership role. She
speaks out against anyone that tries to hurt anybody else.

Other: Lavinia has a deep power of communication, thusly her natural healing
powers are put to great use no matter where you are and what is happening. She
inherited her healing powers from her great grandmother whereas her parents
taught her all she knows about communication. She can hear your thoughts even
if you are an inch away from death and find out what is hurting to be able to
heal it. Extremely good to keep around if in a battlezone although often keeps
to the back of these fights so she is not a big fighter but can help those that are fighters if they become hurt.

"Fee!" called Felicity's oldest sister, Morgaine, as she walked across the lawn. Felicity was the third oldest, after Morgaine and Angelina. "Felicity, what are you doing, dear?"

Felicity wrinkled her nose. "None of your buisiness, Morgaine," she said. She was standing the edge of one of the stone fountains, balacing while bursts of fire shot out of the palm of her hand. As Morgaine approached, she looked at her and jumped down from the fountain. "Why?" she asked.

"Oh, no reason," said Morgaine, taking a seat on a bench. She plucked a flower from the ground and began to pull off the delicate petals and let them float to the ground. "I just wanted to see you. I've only just arrived."

"Just because you left home," Felicity sneered, wrinkling her small nose, "does not mean that I have to miss you like mother and all our other sisters."

"Jackie doesn't miss me," Morgaine said.

"Jaqueline also hates when you call her that," a sharp voice cut into the conversation. The two sisters turned to see their other sister--the fourth oldest--Jacqueline.

"Hello Jacqueline," said Felicity, grinning and sending a wave of flame at her sister. Jacqueline's hand moved quickly through the air and a wall of shadow swallowed up the fire.

"It's nice to see you too, Fee," she said coldly. "It's nice to know that greeting my sisters can get me scorched."

Felicity smirked.

"Mother wants us in for a 'nice family supper'," Jacqueline said, mimicking her mother's voice down to the English accent.

"Ahh," said Morgaine standing. "Well then." She began to walk up the grassy hill that the palace lay on top of. Felicity and Jacqueline followed.

They made their way up the hill and inside the palace doors in silence. Felicity was given a look by one of her mother's guards as she walked inside the dining room in bare feet and her short skirt. She made a face and took her seat.

Jacqueline sat across from her and Morgaine sat beside her.

A few seconds later, Shae--the youngest--swooped in an open window on a gust of air. She was pushed towards the marble floor by the wind and she ran across the floor in the silk-slippered feet and took a seat next to Jacqueline.

Next Gwyneth--the second youngest--and Angelina--the second oldest--ran into the room. Angelina was shrieking as a muddy vine shot out of a Gwyneth's mouth and wrapped around her forearm.

"You're getting me dirty, you imbecile!" she screeched angrily.

"Nice family dinner my foot," said Shae, rolling her eyes.

Felicity chuckled and sat back in her seat. "And let the games begin," she muttered.
"Shae!" Shae heard her older sister Felicity calling from the bottom of the stairway. "Shae! It is time for breakfast! I made your favorite, eggs and sausage! Come down and eat!"

Shae quickly jumped out of bed and put on her slippers. She ran out of the room and down the stairs just in time to meet her sister, who was just turning to leave.

"Well, that was quick, now wasn't it. I should just tell you that every morning so that you get up, now shouldn't I."

"No! And you do realize," Shae said, "that I would eventually catch on that you hadn't made me breakfast."

"Oh really!" she replied back. "I thought that you couldn't catch on to anything."

"Oh Fee! Let's go eat, before it's all gone. They have probably already started."

We both ran into the kitchen to meet the rest of the family sitting around the table, already started, which, obviously, was no surprise. Sometimes she did wish that they could be a little more patient, and it wouldn't kill them to at least try, although they would beg to differ.

Dear Fee,

I know that I've been away for a long time and I apologize. I'm so sorry that I haven't written you for a long time either. I haven't been anywhere where I would be able to write to you. As of now, the war has died down a bit--since it is winter. No one really wants to fight. It's extremely cold and a lot of people have died already. Your father is very ill, but he continues to make plans for our next attack, which I will not explain should this letter fall into the wrong hands. I desperately miss you and I think and dream about you every day. I send all my love, Fee. Be well. Stay well and I will return for you.

Love,
Damien

Fee re-read the letter three times and ended with crumpling it up and stuffing it in the worn leather bag she carried on her shoulders.

"Is someone coming to help me with my things or not?" she yelled impatiently. "I can't very well carry all these bags!"

One of her mother's guards walked in. He stared at her. It was the same one who'd looked at her last night. She made a face and gave him the finger and then turned away. "Take them out to the carriage, please. I need to get away as soon as possible." Why does he always bloody look at me like that? she thought. Nobody else did. But then, this guard was new. Everyone else in the palace was used to her skimpy, revealing clothing. She'd been called a slut and a whore by her own mother on more than one occasion just because of the way that she dressed.

"I will call your sister Jacqueline to help you," he said in a low, sexy voice. She turned to look at him and smiled, seductively.

"Yes," she said. "You do that. It would be very much...appriciated..."

He gave her a questioning look and then smiled and picked up one of the suitcases. He turned and walked out and Felicity fell back onto her bed and sighed with pleasure. "He's only about two years older than I am," she whispered to herself. "That's not so much older. Maybe..."

But the thought of the letter she'd just recieved from Damien was drawn back into her mind and she sighed disgustedly. Damien and Felicity had been hopelessly in love before he'd been drafted into the war. She'd been depressed for about a month after he'd left, but this was the first letter she'd gotten from him in over a year and she wasn't so sure about him anymore. It bothered her that he wasn't writing her as often as she thought he should.

She groaned disgustedly just as Jacqueline walked in the room.

"What's wrong with you now?" asked Jacqueline, waving her hands and surrounding the remaining bags and suitcases with a black shield. She lifted them into the air and concentrated on making them float there.

"I got a letter," Felicity said, rolling onto her stomach.

"From Dame?" asked Jacqueline. 'Dame' was the family nickname for Felicity's would-be husband. 'Would-be' meaning he would-be her husband if she or the war didn't kill him first.

She nodded.

"I trust it wasn't very satisfying," said Jacqueline.

Felicity shook her head. "Not at all," she whispered, a little bit of sorrow creeping into her voice. "I'm a little upset with him. I wrote him last week to let him know that today we're moving to the countryside estate and he didn't mention it once in his letter." A rage took hold of her quite suddenly. "The stupid bastard!" she barked out. "He should be taught a lesson!" a fire ball appeared in her left hand. For a few seconds, she tossed it from hand to hand as if trying to decide what to do with it. But then she let it sink back into her hand and she sighed. "Oh well. I don't need to be tied down to one man anyway. If he doesn't act like he misses me, I won't act like I miss him," she turned to Jacqueline. "Thanks," she said. "Now let's go."

Jacqueline, wondering what exactly she'd done to help, shrugged and concentrated and floating Fee's luggage safely out the window and to the ground. Fee stood on the balcony and jumped, landing deftly on the ground ten feet below. She'd jumped further. Jacqueline followed suit and after all the luggage was put on the first carriage, the six sisters piled into the second. It was off to the countryside manor where their cousin, Katrina, was already being 'kept safe'. Or, as Felicity called it, 'being held a hostage'.
That night, Shae lay awake, thinking about...home.

She was hoping that she and her sisters wouldn't be there for long. She wanted to go back home with all of the things that she'd had there.

*

The next morning, she woke up late. She was so tired from the long journey it took to get there the afternoon before.

Shae looked out the window, hoping to go for a walk so that she could get to know the place a little bit better. She had NO such luck! There was a huge storm and a strong wind.

She groaned with distaste, wishing she'd had more training so that she could control the weather. She hated it when there was a storm, especially when it was a day that she wanted to go outside.

Oh well. She would just have to find something to do while she was cooped up inside this place.

"Shae!" Katrina called up the staircase. "Shae!"

"What!?!" Shae screamed at her. Shae didn't really like her cousin.

"When are you going to come down? We have to go soon."

Okay, now she was just confused.

"Gowhere?" she asked.

"To the store! My parents said that we could each choose one pet, if we wanted to. So, do you want to come or not?"

"Of course I want to come!" Shae said, jumping away from the window and over to my closet, grabbing an outfit. She had a strong like for animals.

"Well, hurry up!" she yelled at her. "We need to leave soon!"

In the car, they were all quiet. They were tired. It was only 9:43 in the morning.

Shae already knew what kind of pet she wanted. She wanted a kitten. She always had. She wasn't sure what she wanted it to look like, but she had some ideas.

When they arrived at the store, they all rushed inside and started looking around for the pets that they wanted.

"Excuse me," Shae said. "Can you tell me where the cats are, and if I can hold them?" she asked one of the workers politely.

A lady turned to face her and pointed to the left.

"Go down there, and there will be a girl that is by the cat cages. You can ask her about them."

Shae ran down that way. Sure enough, just around the corner, was a girl that looked to be about 20, or somewhere around there.
"Ummmm.... Could you help me with the cats?" Shae asked her, shyly.

"Sure! I would love to!"

"Thanks."

They walked over the the cages.

"Which one would you like to hold?" she asked her.

"Umm... the small gray and black striped kitten," Shae said, pointing at the one that had caught her eyes.

"Okay, just a minute."

Shae watched while she walked over to the cage and unlocked it. She brought the kitten over to me, and then left.

She held the kitten up to my chest. It was so small, and sheloved it.

The six sisters and Katrina all met at the front of the store, and looked at each other's pets.
They went up to the check-out desk, and Katrina's mother paid for their pets.

They went home, and Shae went up into her room, and set the kitten down on the carpeted floor. It looked around for a minute, and then crawled back to her. It did not want her to put it down.

Shae felt happy with her new kitten, and NO ONE could EVER make her give it up!

Felicity tilted her head and watched the snake she'd gotten about a week ago wrap itself around the tree branch in the huge cage she'd bought to put in her room at the countryside estate. She pursed her lips and smiled, her eyes scanning the flame pattern of the scales on the snakes back.

"Hello, Fee," said Gwyneth and Shae as they walked in.

Felicity tilted her head a little to acknowledge their presence. But she didn't take her eyes off the snake. "Hello," she said, watching the snake uncurl itself. Finally, she looked at them. "Thanks for asking to come in," she said sarcastically.

"Oh, you're welcome," Gwyneth said, smiling in the cute way she always did that made her nose scrunch up. She dropped onto the bed.

Shae followed suit. She was holding her kitten and was playing it. Her ash-blonde hair was brushed up out of her eyes and pulled into an updo. She looked tired and a little sick.

Felicity studied her, her stomach twisting tighter with each second. "Shae..." she said slowly. "Are you okay?"

Shae nodded slowly. "I think so," she said.

Felicity smiled. "Well fine then," she said. "If you're okay, then let's get the others and go spar in the yard."

Gwyneth grinned and nodded. But then her smile faded. "But what about Katrina? She can't spar with the rest of us."

"She can watch," said Felicity. She pushed Gwyneth. "Now," she said. "The two of you go change and I'll get the otheres. Hurry!"

They jumped up and ran to their rooms. Felicity ran down the hall rapping on Morgaine, Jacqueline, and Angelina's doors. When she got to the end of the hall and had turned around, all three of them had come out of their rooms to ask her what was going on.

"We," Felicity said, grinning wickedly, "are going to spar in the yard."

*

"Are you all ready?" asked one of the guards from the shade where he, five other guards, and Katrina sat watching.

The six sisters nodded.

Gwyneth was wearing a very short, dark green skirt and a tight, brown tube top that was ripped off at the bottom so that her midriff was showing. Her hair hung down her back, looking wild and untamed. She was standing confidently on a tree branch, waiting.

Shae lay luxuriously on a cloud watching all of them below. She wore a long short pink dress and a long white, hoodless cloak over it. Her ash-blonde hair had been pulled tightly into a ponytail.

Angelina was sitting cross-legged in the sunniest part of the yard. Her eyes were closed and her reddish-brown hair hung down her back in gorgeous waves. She was wearing a pair of cut-off white capris and a loose, white tunic-style shirt.

Jacqueline stood in the darkest part of the yard. Her hood was pulled over her head and you couldn't see her face, but you could tell that she was looking straight ahead because her eyes were glowing bright white.

None of them were sure what Morgaine was wearing because she'd slipped beneath the surface of the small pond in the very center of the yard.

Felicity stood off to one side, leaning casually against a pile of burnt up ground. She was wearing a tight yellow top and a short, leather gold skirt that barely reach past her butt. But it had strips of red, yellow, and orange fabric hanging off of it and they reached her ankles.

She waited.

"Alright then," called the guard. He raised a gun and grinned. "GO!" he shouted, pulling the trigger.

Gwyneth flipped out of the tree. Vines began to snake their way out of her shoulders, wrapping themselves around her arms, which were beginning to turn a pale green. She lifted her hands and a boulder rose into the air. She threw it straight at Felicity, who jumped easily out of the way and shot a stream of fire at it. The boulder shattered.

Felicity turned, not stopping to check the damage she'd done and she used one hand to shoot flame at Shae in the sky and one hand to shoot flame at Morgaine in the pool.

Jacqueline stood calmly on the ground, a transparent black shield around her, allowing nothing to pass. This, of course, meant that she could also not let anything out, but she preferred it that way. She would watch and wait until the others fought it out and grew tired, and then she would strike. She was not one to attack quickly, before thinking.

Jacqueline had to stand there for awhile before the others grew tired. She threw her black hood off her head, before deciding to take the trench coat off entirely. It would only hinder her in the fight.

With a wave of her hand, she dispersed the Dark Shield and entered the array of the fight. Quickly she took it in.

Gwyneth was down, holding her burnt tube top up (curtousy of Felicity) and glaring at any guard who dared look at her. Jacqueline rolled her eyes and quickly made a loose black shirt appear on her, made out of Dark Magic.

Jacqueline concentrated on the others. Morgaine was also out, soaking in her pool, nursing the burn marks and trying to rid all vines from her body. Felicity, Shae, and Angelina were still fighting, although Angelina looked ready to collapse. Jacqueline sent Dark Bats to her. Angelina tried to stay calm, but the bats were nipping at her, and she happened to be mortified of bats. Finally, after finding herself unable to concentrate enough to use her Light Magic to disperse the bats, she gave in and went to sit next to Gwyneth.

Felicity and Shae were not so easily beaten by bats. Shae had no fear of bats and Felicity could burn them before they got to her.

But Jacqueline had a certain advantage over them - they were tiring, and she was fresh in the fight.

The two lasted for almost an hour, but they were simply too exhausted to go on. After using magic for too long, it becomes tiring, and your movements become slower. Jacqueline already had fast reflexes, and she was definitely not tired.

"You cheated," Angelina complained as they were resting after the fight.

Jacqueline looked at her, eyebrow raised. "How, exactly, did I cheat?"

"You were in a shield more than half the fight," Angelina replied.

"In a real fight you wouldn't be able to do that," Morgaine assured her. "Your enemies would just wait for you."

Jacqueline shrugged. "I wasn't much in the mood for fighting today. I don't feel entirely well."

"If you hadn't hid in the shield so long we would have been able to beat you," Felicity told her.

"Maybe," Jacqueline said. "Of course, I have the Dark Forces on my side. And I have to be very powerful to control them instead of them controlling me."

"But we're powerful too," Gwyneth reminded her.

Jacqueline nodded. "I can't really say who would have won. You know a different person wins almost every time. I just got lucky this time."

"Or, rather, you cheated," Morgaine grumbled.

Jacqueline just smiled faintly and stood up. "I'm going back to my room. I want to check on Twilight."

She thought fondly of her black parrot (extremely rare, of course, but she had been willing to pay the extra money), a rather smart one, who didn't annoy her by talking nonstop. Rather, she rarely talked, but when she did, it was something useful. It was a Dark Parrot, and smart.

Jacqueline walked back to the castle.
A messanger arrived the next day. Gwyneth raced down the stairs and met him. He urgently told her that her father needed help immediately. They had just realized that the enemy had been hiding and were about to attack at the most unexpected time: winter.

Gwyneth thanked him and hurried to find the rest of her sisters, who were arguing in the garden.

“Gwyn, what’s wrong?” Felicity asked, looking up as she skidded into view.

She gasped, catching her breath before telling them of the news that she'd just been given. For a while, they all paused, trying to configure what to do. She sat down beside Angelina and sighed, closing her eyes.

“Do you think we’ll be there in time?” Jacqueline asked.

She shrugged. “Maybe if we hurry-”

“Well we can’t take a long time; our father needs our help soon.” Shae said.

Morgaine nodded. She knew we didn’t have much choice.

She smiled. “We should get ready.”

Morgaine was sitting on the edge of the little lake and looking at her reflection as she soaked her tired feet in the cool water. The sun was setting and the sky was changing colors. It was her favorite time of the day, it always made her feel young to just sit and enjoy the sunset. But, being 19, she wondered if she should leave her childhood behind and start enjoying adult things.

She didn't have a steady boyfriend, she had a job where she could spend all day in the water, and she never had anything difficult arise in her life. She wondered if she was just lucky or just lazy. She never did anything challenging where her powers were not of any help.

She heard the sound of footsteps behind her and she turned her head slightly to see who was coming to visit her.

"Hello, Morgaine," it was one of the palace guards. "Your presence is requested in the library, right away, Ma'am."

Morgaine sighed and looked one last time up at the sky before standing up to follow the man into the palace. She had spent half of her childhood in that library, learning spells and learning how to navigate her way through rivers and ponds.

Geography was definitely her strong-suit, she knew the name of every town and river and mountain for hundreds of miles. She took a lot of time to travel along the rivers and see different places.

When she got to the library she wondered if the palace guard had been mistaken, all the lights in the library were off and when she tried to turn them on, the light bulb sputtered and sparked, but no light appeared.
Shae woke the next morning to her kitten rubbing against her face, purring and meowing.
She got up and dressed, and then picked it up and went downstairs.

When she got down, breakfast was almost ready.

"What are we haveing today?" she asked Katrina, who now always made breakfast.

"Pancakes, bacon, and eggs. What do you want? A scrambled egg or a pancake?" she asked me.

"Hmmmm. I will have a scrambled egg." Shae replied.

Scrambled eggs were her favorite!

*

After breakfast, the sisters all went outside.
Katrina was mad at Shae because she'd taken the last piece of bacon.

Felicity was mad at Katrina for being mad at Shae, so Felicity and Shae were off by themselves.
But they really had nothing to talk about because Shae bugged Felicity as much as she bugged Katrina.

"Felicity?" Shae asked her after a few minutes of silence. "Why do we have to stay here? Why can't we just go some where else so that we don't have to be at Katrina's house. She is so mean to us and expects us to do every thing and do it perfectly."

"I know, I know," Felicity answered her. Felicity's voice was a mixture of annoyance and tiredness. "But there is one thing that I don't know. I don't know why she is so mean to us. I have a pretty good guess though."

"What? What is your guess?" Shae asked. She really wanted to know.

"I think that she hates us because we are not rich like her. She is a princess and gets ever hting that she wants. We don't. We are not princesses and she is. My guess is that is why she hates us. We don't have what she has. That is just how rich people are. They are spoiled BRATS! That is how she is, too. I hate to be saying htis stuff about her, but it is all true. She is spoiled, like heck she is spoiled, and she is rude," Felicity explained to her.

"Yeah," Shae said. "I guess that makes sense."

"Well, it better!" Felicity said, sarcastically.

When they all got back inside, they went up to their rooms.

About a minute later, they all heard Felicity scream so loud that the neighbors probably heard it, too. She could have woken the dead with a scream like that.

They all ran out into the hall.

"What? What is it, Fee?" Shae asked, running into her room, while yelling the question down the hall.

Shae ran into her room to find her throwing all of her stuff around the room. One of her fists was bloody where she'd punched a hole through her snake's glass cage. But that was only in one spot. There was no other place on the cage broken.

"What the heck are you looking for?" Shae asked in shock.

"My snake, he's gone!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Well duh! You just punched a whole through its cage," Shae said.

"No, you stupid little girl!" Felicity screamed, throwing a lamp at her little sister. Shae ducked. "It was gone before that. I punched it because I was mad." She looked at her fist and winced. "Which probably wasn't the smartest idea, huh?"

Shae shook her head. "Okay, okay! Calm down. Screaming isn't going to make it come back. We will all just have to watch our step and look through our stuff."

Shae walked out in the hall and explained to every one else what had happened.

Katrina's eyes immediately narrowed.

"A snake is loose in my house!!!?? How could this happen. You better find it, SOON!!!!!"

Felicity could feel her heart pounding in her head as she began to searched her room. She knelt down and a two inch long piece of glass pierced her knee. She grimaced and pulled it out, but ignored the blood an kept looking.

"It's not in my room," said Felicity when she'd completely torn the place apart ten minutes later.

"It's not in any of our rooms or the upper floors either," said Gwyneth.

"Morgaine and I are going to check the basement and the lower floors," said Angelina.

"And me and Gwyneth will check the main floor and the green houses," said Shae.

Jacqueline looked at Felicity. "I guess that leaves the outside to you and me," she said quietly.

Felicity nodded slowly.

The six sisters split up. Katrina had locked herself in her room after Felicity had tried to know her out (for saying "you better find it, SOON!!!!!) and swearing at her for about five minutes.

Felicity was still a bit bitter, but Jacqueline didn't pay any attention to her bad attitude. For a few minutes, the two sisters searched in silence and then Jacqueline looked up. It was dark outside, but Jacqueline could see almost perfectly.

"I think that it's been by here," she said, pointing at a place in the yard where the grass looked like it had been crushed by the snakes body.

"Oh, good!" Felicity exclaimed. "You follow the trail that way," she said, pointing the opposite way. "I'll go this way. Call me if you find it." She still hadn't named her snake yet.

Jacqueline nodded and pulled her trench coat more tightly around her as if she were cold. Then she pulled the hood up over her head and set off.

Felicity set off in the other direction not bothering to be silent. She ran until she realized that there were walls rising up on either side of her. She looked behind her and could see the enterence to a maze. Funny, she thought. I don't remember a maze in Katrina's...

She gasped as vines began to snake their way over the enterence. By the time she made it back to the enterance, the vines were too thick to get through. She groaned and turned to face the maze. She could still follow the trail of her snake. Maybe that would get her out of the maze.

And it did, eventually. By the time that she'd gotten out of the maze, the sun was barely starting to rise.

Felicity was tired and sore. She wished that she was wearing a more practical outfit. Her pajamas were like the clothes that she wore everyday, but she did have more practical things. Things that actually covered her up. She was wearing the same outfit that she'd fought in a few days before except for one or two of the strips of fabric had been torn off. She was breathing hard and she had a terrible headache.

She stumbled, but caught herself before she fell and just leaned over breathing hard.

"Do you need any help?" asked a voice. It made her jump. Someone talking to her was the last thing that she'd expected.

She looked up, gasped, and stumbled backwards.

"Thomas?" she choked out.

He smiled. "Yes," he said. "You remember me."

"Of course I do," she said, in a slightly annoyed voice. "After all the arguments you and Jacqueline had... The violent arguments, I might add."

He took a few steps towards her, but Felicity stumbled backwards shaking her head. "What's the matter?" he asked, stopping.

She looked behind her only to find that the exit to the maze had been sealed as well and she had no idea where she was.

"I'm not going to hurt you--maybe..." he said in a soft whisper.

That was when other men moved out from the shadows and, at a hand signal from Thomas, one moved forward, siezed Felicity and knocked her out with the hilt of his sword.

Jacqueline was still searching outside when she felt it. Dark forces were gathering, and quickly.

She cocked her head, trying to see the forces more quickly. They seemed to be gathering around something. Something hot, and very powerful.

Her eyebrows furrowed together. Fire? But, no, that wasn't quite it. It was more than fire. It was...

Jacqueline swore under her breath. It was Felicity.

She closed her eyes tight on concentrated on the life force of her sister, and the dark forces encompassing her.

Opening her eyes, she could see that she was inside a maze. In front of her, she could see Felicity on the ground, surrounded by Dark Creatures disguised as men. Just to the right of the dark creatures, she could see a man standing.

“Thomas,” Jacqueline acknowledged. “I should have known I would see you again.”

Thomas turned toward her, his lips twisting into something that was more a grimace than a smile.

“Jacqueline,” he greeted, nodding his head. “Yes, I suppose it was inevitable, was it not?”

“What brings you here?” she asked, although she already knew.

He laughed softly, with no warmth.

“You know what I’m doing here,” he said. “I need Felicity, and I have come to collect her.”

“You can’t beat me, Thomas,” she told him. “I’m sure you’re aware of that. Look at you. You’re nearly consumed by them.”

His black eyes glittered coldly, showing no cruelty, but no warmth either. “I am fine, Jacqueline. You have always worried too much.”

Jacqueline ignored him, sitting down in the grass, She pulled her trench coat more closely around her, but she felt no warmth.

“I fancied myself in love with you, you know,” she said after a moment of silence. “You were handsome, kind, and had a wonderful set of values. I even loved your awkwardness around other women. I suppose I was blinded by the false love. I didn’t realize how foolish it was of me to begin training you when you were already twelve. I was twelve, too, of course, so I suppose I didn’t know enough about love to know how blinding it can be. Even false love.”

Jacqueline looked up at the dark sky.

“I was a child when I first had to fight off the Dark Forces,” she said. “Only four years old, I believe. I wasn’t nearly strong enough, but it was my child innocence that saved me, in the end. You were innocent, of course, but lacked the child innocence I had possessed. You had seen too much. You were 14 when you had to fight them. You weren’t consumed, quite, but you began to shut yourself off from me and everyone else. I shut myself off as well, as a defense mechanism, I suppose. That was our undoing. By the time we were 15, we didn’t know each other any longer. You wanted different things than me. You wanted to set out to take the thrown of the Dark. You wanted me to help you. I wouldn’t. We fought. You left.”

Jacqueline pulled her coat even tighter. “And now look at you. Your white-blond hair has turned black. Your pale blue eyes are now black. Can’t you see what is happening to you, Thomas? You are becoming a Dark Force. You might gain the thrown, but you will loose yourself. I remember when you told me that the thrown wasn’t worth that.”

“I changed, Jacqueline,” he told her.

Jacqueline nodded. “That you did, Thomas.”

His face was still cold. “So what will it be, Jacqueline? You know I could never hurt you and force you to come with me. I wouldn’t win, anyway. But if you do not come with me of your own free will, I will leave with Felicity to somewhere you can never find me. Either come with me and watch over her, or stay here and wait for me to make the next move.”

She knew he was telling the truth. Even though he had changed so much, he was still a terrible liar. She could tell when he had said he was fine.

Jacqueline stood, composing her self once more, and picked her sister up, and then grabbed Thomas’ surprisingly warm hand.

“Take me away,” she said softly.

He did, and they were gone a minute before the sisters reached them.

Morgaine and Angelina were still in the basement when Gwyneth came down to tell them that Jacqueline and Felicity were gone.

"What? This better not be a joke. How long have they been missing?" Morgaine asked, running up the basement stairs only to be faced with her mother crying and Shae trying to comfort her.

"They went out to search for that snake about an hour ago and I went out to look for them because we found it in the kitchen, but they were nowhere to be found." Gwyneth said.

"There was another surprise. I was searching the grounds and I think someone lured Felicity into the maze and with Dark Forces they trapped her. I think Jacqueline went in to save Felicity and in the end they were both taken away. By who, I don't know," Gwyneth added. She looked to each of her sisters and then to her mother.

"Mother, they'll be okay. For now, just please stop crying," Angelina said.

Their mother shook her head and took a deep breath. "We'll send out a search party... We won't sleep until we find them."

The sisters sighed and Morgaine went to shut the basement door and she got a sort of flash back.

It was of Thomas and Jacqueline. They used to be great friends, but he became darker and one day he just ran away. Maybe he was behind this. It couldn't hurt to mention him Morgaine thought.

"I'm not 100% positive about this, but for some reason I think Jacqueline and Felicity are with Thomas. You remember him, right?"

Everyone nodded.

"If they are with him, where would he have taken them?"

Everyone stood around and thought. No one knew exactly where Thomas had gone when he left, and if he became Dark, he would probably go to the Dark kingdom. But no one knew where that was.
Angelina leaned her back against the door as her eyes glanced between her siblings and mother. As she listened she felt her skin warm as if it was glowing. Thomas? Why would he take both Felicity and Jacqueline? As the room became quiet, Angelina spoke.

"We need to find out a way to get to the kingdom and rescue our sisters. Sought out a sorcerer or something but we have to make it to them. Who knows what he might do to them or what horrendous things he has in store for them. Who can we contact that would know anything about the Dark Kingdom? Someone evil. So THAT"S what we have to do. "

Angelina excused herself from the gathering of her sisters and mother and stepped outside. Placing her arms around herself she closed her eyes.

"Felicity. jacqueline. I ask for you to be safe until we find you and we will find you. Thomas will pay dearly for what he has done."

She lowered herself to the steps and placed her hands to her face, speaking in soft tones.
Kat sat alone in her chambers, cursing herself for how rude she had been to her cousins. She was never sure how to show love so she gave off rudeness. She was deep in thought about her actions when a small knock came on her chamber door.

She quickly answered the door. It was Morgaine. She told her of the disapperance of Jacqueline and Felicity. Kat threw herself into action, she went straight to her head guard and gave her orders for him to search the grounds.

(Sorry so short. I did not know what to write).
Stretching languidly, Cora rose from her ever peaceful slumber, completely satiated with life. It was her time at last. Watching the maid who entered her chamber she smiled. "Is there news for me?"

The girl bowed her head, extending a small slip of paper.

No one should ever say money couldnt buy happiness, Cora thought reading the hastily scribbled note. There were spies everywhere, for the right price, who were willing to do her bidding.

So, while the girls played and weeped over lost loves, she would watch their world fall apart, ready and waiting to complete her destiny at long last.

Foolish people, Cora didnt even have to resort to mind control much anymore. The idiots managed to tear everythign apart on their own with their...wars.

The girls would be weak, lost and tired once this war progressed, and she would make sure she had them when the time was right, but not now....no, she should let them suffer as the world fell, and then when they had no more to lose she would put them out of their misery.

Thomas walked swiftly through the hallways of the - once deserted - castle. Now it was his. It was perfect - just on the edge of the Dark Kingdom without actually being in it.

He didn't really want to admit that he was also on the edge of Dark.

He was going to see Jacqueline and Felicity, to speak with them and expain what would be happening.

"Thomas," Jacqueline greeted as he entered the room.

"What do you want?" Felicity asked angrily as he came in."

"I need you for a number of ceremonies," he explained. "You should be enough for the first few, but I'm going to need the others after awhile."

"What are you going to do?" Felicity asked suspiciously. "You can't kill us. My sisters will hunt you down."

Thomas shook his head. "I'm not planning on killing either of you."

"What sick 'ceremonies' are you going to make us be in?" she growled.

"Nothing 'sick' is going to happen," Thomas returned, glaring. "I'm not going to make you prance around naked. And Jacqueline isn't going to participate in anything."

"Why?" Felicity asked.

"I don't need her Power," he informed her. "She's just here to watch over you, to make sure I don't hurt you."

"You're just giving us a better chance to escape," Felicity pointed out.

Thomas shrugged. "I have faith in the defenses I put up. Not even Jacqueline can break them."

Jacqueline nodded. "I've seen them. Impressive, Thomas. You had a little help, did you not?"

Thomas shrugged once more. "A few weaklings with Dark Power. They're all mostly consumed, but they have they're uses."

"You going to kill them once you get done with them?" Felicity sneered.

He shook his head, rolling his eyes. "I may be trying to gain the Dark Thrown, but I don't kill, Felicity."

"Yes, killing is a very good way to make yourself completely consumed," Jacqueline agreed.

"Well, good," Felicity murmered. "How long are you going to keep us?"

"As long as it takes," Thomas answered. "Once I'm done with you, I'll take another sister and set you free. But Jacqueline is staying until I gain the Thrown. I don't trust her outside my defences. They're much easier to break once outside them. And I must only have one sister here at a time - I don't trust all of you together. I feel safer with only two."

"Since I'm going to be staying here for so long," Jacqueline said, "could we have a television set brought in?"

Thomas nodded. "I'll make sure you're comfortable here, Jackie. And there's a rather large library here I think you'll like. I'll show it to you sometime."

Jacqueline glared at him. "It's Jacqueline. You are not to call me Jackie."

"Right, sorry," he muttered. "Jacqueline."

Jacqueline gave him a chilly smile. "Thank you. I'll look forward to seeing the library."

He nodded shortly at her and walked through the door, pausing just long enough to say, "I'll have your dinners brought to you shortly."

"The sisters don't know you plan on setting us free," Felicity called after him. "They'll try to kill you."

"They'll try to kill me anyway," Thomas said.
" I will gain the Dark Throne."

Thomas left.
"Shae!" Katrina called.

"What?!?" Shae yelled, storming out of the room where Gwyneth had told her to wait.

"When was the last time you saw Felicity and Jacqueline?" she asked, batting her eyelashes innocently, even though the venom in her eyes was obvious and directed towards Shae.

"I haven't seen them since they went outside," Shae said. "Why? Have you?"

"You are such and idiot! A simpleton! A fool! Have you not been listenenig to every one outside and around this place!!?! They are missing! You are so stupid!!! What have you been doing to miss all of this?" Katrina demanded, seeming angry, but sort of pleased that Shae was so lost.

"Missing? Where are they? Why are they missing. Where were they seen last? Where could they be?" Shae asked wildly. She jumped up very suddenly and tore down the hallway, a suprised Katrina running after her.

"Why do you think I asked you, becuase I already knew where they were?" she called after Shae, a very sarcastic tone in her voice.

"No!" Shae shouted rudely. "Shut up!"

"Then why are you asking where they are? No one knows, except.......Thomas," she called, stopping. Shae stopped and turned, her eyes wide.

"Thomas?" asked Shae. "What does he have to do with all of this?"

"I am not really sure, but Gwyneth said that he showed up and was talking to one of the guards earlier. She said that she knew for sure it was him and so we're sure he took Felicity and Jacqueline. We just don't know why or how to find them," she told Shae, checking her fingernails for dirt.

"Thomas? How did he come into this?" Shae repeated.

"I already told you, I don't know!" Kat said, getting annoyed.

"And what about Jaqueline? When is he going to let her go? Never?!?" Shae asked, racing back towards her cousin.

"I have NO clue!!! If you want to know that, you are going to have to talk to Gwyn and see if she knows any more about it."

"Thanks Kat," Shae said breathlessly. She turned and raced down the stairs to find Gwyneth.

They needed to talk.

"What if he doesn't keep his word?" asked Felicity.

"He will," Jacqueline insisted. "I know him."

Felicity stood up and walked a few steps away, her back to her sister. "No, Jacqueline," she said. "You knew him. You don't know him anymore. He's probably lying. He'll probably destroy us all. We're too much of a threat to him. We're the elements. The elements beat out everything--including the Dark Thrown."

There was a moment of silence and then Felicity whipped around to glare at Jacqueline. There were flames burning in the back of her eyes. "Why do you just let him go? Why do you let him talk to me--us--like that? Why did you let him bring us here?"

"I couldn't have stopped him," Jacqueline said calmly, keeping a level gaze with her older sister.

"You could have tried," Felicity hissed angrily. "But you don't care, do you? You're still the stupid little girl who fell for him--fell for evil--all those years ago, aren't you?"

Jacqueline turned her head away.

"Don't tell me you aren't," Felicity, raising her voice. "I can see it in your eyes, Jackie. You want him to be what he was when you first fell in love with..."

Jacqueline turned back towards her, her eyes completely black, and she rose up in the air. "Shut up, Felicity! Shut up, shut up, shut up!"

Felicity stumbled backwards, taken by surprise, but anger still faintly showed in her eyes. She let out a shaky breath and collapsed on the floor and letting Jacqueline's rage wash over her.

Finally Jacqueline returned to the ground, shaking, her eyes widened with surprise. She hadn't lost her temper like that for years. "I..." she said, stumbling over the words. She felt like she couldn't speak. "I'm sorry, Fee," she whispered. "I'm sorry."

"You should be," Felicity murmured, standing and walking away to her own room--her own personal prison.

~*~*~

Felicity heard the lock click in her door, but didn't turn to look as Thomas entered. She could sense the darkness radiating from him and didn't need to look at him to see who it was. She looked away instead and shivered when she felt his cold fingers on her bare neck.

She jerked herself away from him and then stared. "Who are you?" she asked.

"Thomas," he answered. "You knew me then and you know me now," he said, sitting next to her on the bed.

"I never knew you," Felicity said. "And I still don't."

"That's a lie," he said. "You knew me. You were like my sister."

"Your little sister or your older sister?" Felicity asked.

"Little sister," Thomas said.

"I'm older than you," Felicity replied.

"Ya, by one year," Thomas snapped.

Felicity smiled and then remembered who she was talking to. "Why'd you change?" she asked suddenly. "What happened? Why'd you and Jacqueline fight?"

"It's hard to understand," Thomas said.

"Try me," Felicity snapped.

He looked at her, amused. "No," he said. "I don't think I will. Not right now anyway. If you still want to know after I've performed the ceremonies, then I promise I'll tell you."

Felicity looked at him. "Your hair," she said, reaching up and running several of her dainty fingers through it. Suddenly, her hand snapped back, as if burned and she looked at him, embarrassed. She lowered her head. "I'm sorry," she said. "I just...always loved your hair. The white-blond..." she broke off and looked away. "Would you just leave?" she asked, a hint of annoyance creeping into her voice.

"I'm the one who owns this place," he said, the same annoyance in his voice as well. "I'll leave when I want to."

She glared at him. "You'll leave when I tell you to," she replied. She didn't care if she was being held prisoner. She was not about to let herself be ordered around.

He leaned towards her, a quirky sideways smile on his face. She backed up until she was against one of the pillows and he was on top of her. She instinctively thrust her hands--palm first--forward, feeling the flame build up in them, but Thomas siezed her wrists and the flame was forced back down her wrists, making her cry out. She'd never felt fire like that before.

He smiled. "As I said," he repeated. "I'll leave when I want to."

"Leave me alone!" Felicity screamed, but her mouth was quickly covered by his hand.

"Quiet, little girl. You might be older, but I am bigger. And more powerful."

He could feel her power trying to come out, but he was using his Dark power to keep himself safe.

~~~~~~~****************~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~***********~~~~~~~~~~~
Jaqcueline could feel that something was wrong, that it must be her sister, but she didn't know where she was or what was wrong. It almost felt like there was a person screaming in her head, asking for help.
She really wished she had at least one other sister there with her. Any of them would be more use to her than anything.
Jacqueline thought about Thomas and how bold he was to call her 'Jackie'. Who does he think he is? Kidnapping her sister and then giving her a nickname. He didn't have any rights to give her new names.
She felt it again, and she knew she couldn't just stand around. She had to find some way out of the room she was in and find her sister. She ran to the door and grabbed the handle.
But, like an electric fence, she was shocked and took a step back. She felt like screaming and thought it might not be a bad idea. It might get someone to come let her out.
She screamed. It echoed. No one came.
Kat walked quickly after Shae, slowing down slightly as not to tear her gown. A little piece of her was jealious (Spelling Sorry) because of all the attention being directed to Jacqueline and Felicity.
Kat stopped before entering the room, Shae, had just disappeared into. A thought hit her, she was being stupid and cruel.
Kat had always masked her feelings toward her cousins. She needed to do something, scream or run.
She threw the door open leading into the study and asked, "Is there anything I can do? The palace guards will search out this insufferable insurgents and retrieve Jacqueline and Felicity. Just tell me what action I should take."
She watched her cousins, who both appeared to be in a state of shock.
Thomas pulled back quickly when her heard the scream echoing into the room. It was Jacqueline.
He looked down to Felicity, glaring at him with mingled fury and fear. What had he done?
Jacqueline burst into the room, nursing a hand. Her eyes darted quickly between Felicity and Thomas.
"What have you done?" she growled at Thomas, voicing the same question that he himself had wanted to know.
"I...I..." he stuttered. Thomas took a deep breath. He had to gain his composure. He couldn't let things affect him like this.
"Get out of my sister's room," Jacqueline said coldly, moving to stand closer to Felicity, who had sitten up on the bed.
"You can't tell me - " Thomas began, trying to regain control but not quite succeeding.
"I can and I will," Jacqueline interrupted him.
Thomas looked into her steely expression and gave a swift nod. There was no use fighting her. And what was the point staying, anyway, when he had already done enough damage?
He pushed that thought away as another voice in his head snidely proclaimed that he could do whatever he liked. He was in control here. This was his house, his room.
Thomas turned away from the anger in Jacqueline's gaze and walked out the door.
Yes, he was still in control, he assured himself. He would just not show his control by hurting Felicity - and certainly not Jacqueline, but there was never any chance he would do that.
A part of him knew that was because the Dark Forces within him had no desire to test the power of another Dark Force user, especially one that had already conquered the Dark Forces. But he didn't admit that was the reason. He didn't want to admit that the Dark Forces were controlling him in any aspect.
Thomas walked into his own room and sat in a chair, head in hands. Why had he done that to Felicity? He never used to have any desire to hurt her or...or worse.
"Can't you see what's happening to you, Thomas? You're becoming a Dark Force.
Thomas mentally shook Jacqueline's voice from his head. She was wrong. He wasn't becoming a Dark Force. He was in control.
Thomas scowled when he saw Felicity's fear and Jacueline's steely gaze once more in his mind's eye.
He was in control, he repeated to himself.
Shae was running down a tunnel with walls on wither side that looked more like bushes and hedges rather than stone. She could feel her heart pounding in her throat, and she saw a exit in the not far off distance. A light shone through the archway, and she could see the silhouette of something that looked a lot like the.....
Shae woke up with her heart pounding, just like it had been in the dream. "The Dark Throne," she whispered.
The next day at lunch, Jacqueline and Felicity were escorted to the dining room. Felicity's heart was pounding and her head was sore. She had bruises on her arms from where Thomas had held her. Jacqueline was talking to her, but she couldn't hear her or wasn't listening. She didn't know which. Felicity felt like she was moving through water.
They took their seats at the small, square table. Felicity looked down at her hands in her lap and then at Jacqueline. Jacqueline, who was watching her, forced a thin, tired smile. Felicity tried to return it, but couldn't.
A few minutes later, the dining hall doors opened again, and Thomas entered. He sat down across from Felicity and next to Jacqueline. There was only room for one person on each side of the table.
Thomas made a hand gesture to one of the men--the guards, really--that had escorted the two sisters there. He bowed and left the room.
They returned a few seconds later with two kitchen maids barely dressed. Felicity liked the design of their outfits, but they were pink, purple, and green--all pale versions of the color. That was so not her style. She like red, orange, yellow, black, and gold and that was about it.
Her eyes dropped back to her pale hands. She felt eyes on her and looked up slowly, to see Thomas watching her. She felt a shiver run up her spine and she quickly looked away.
When they were finished eating, Jacqueline and Felicity stood up to leave. The entire meal had been completely silent, without any talk. As Thomas passed by Felicity, he whispered, "The ceremonies begin tonight, my dear. I'll send someone for you. If you tell Jacqueline, then you might not come back alive," then he moved passed her and out the doors.
Felicity watched him go feeling the unfamiliar feeling of fear creep into her.
Jacqueline sighed as she lounged on her bed. Felicity has locked herself in her room, claiming shewas tired and wanted undesturbed sleep. Jacqueline couldn't blaim her, but she could still destinctly tell that something was wrong.
Jacqueline looked up when a maid came in. She was wearing a brown uniform-looking dress, very unlike the scantily-dressed kitchen maids from before.
"Uh, hello," the maid said caustiously. "Thomas has sent me here to keep you company."
If Jacqueline hadn't been suspicious before, she definitely was then. Why had Thomas bothered to send someone to keep her company when he knew Felicity was right next door?
Jacqueline set her jaw. Someone was lying to her, and she was willing to bet it was not only Thomas but Felicity as well.
"Right," Jacqueline said. "What's your name?"
The maid's eyebrows rose. "My name?"
She nodded. "Yes. You aren't a Dark Power, which I actually find I bit surprising. And as you're human, it's only polite I ask you your name. I assume you know mine?"
The timid maid nodded. "Yes, miss."
Jacqueline rose an eyebrow. "So? Your name?"
"It's Rosa, miss," she answered after a moment's hesitation.
Jacqueline nodded. "Rosa. Suits you."
She stood up, looking Rosa in the eye. "Now what exactly is going on here?"
Rosa took an involuntary step back. "What do you mean?"
Jacqueline gave her a cold stare. "You know precisely what I mean. I'm sure you know what is happening tonight, even if you are obviously a low-ranking Dark Witch. Not even powerful enough for the Dark Powers to try to consume you."
Rosa inclined her head. "I have no desire to be that powerful, miss."
Jacqueline smiled faintly. "That's rather smart. And if you're as smart as you seem, you'd tell me what is happening with Thomas and my sister."
"I can't, miss," she said, her eyes pleading with me to understand. "Thomas would kill me."
"Thomas needn't know," Jacqueline told her. "I'll make sure to tell him I shoved you out of the way to explore the grounds on my own."
Rosa was very obviously beginning to yield. "I don't know..."
Jacqueline put her hand on Rosa's shoulder. "Rosa, please, this is my sister. I have to make sure she's fine. If no harm is coming to her, no harm will come to Thomas or whatever it is he's doing."
Rosa bit her lip. "It's...the ceremonies, miss. The first ceremony is tonight."
Jacqueline removed her hand from Rosa and swore. "Thomas isn't planning on hurting her, is he?"
Rosa shook her head cautiously. "No. Felicity just has to use her powers excessively. She has to defeat certain obsticals that stand in the way of the throne, in a very precise way. Such as standing at a certain spot with other enemies in certain spots, and using her power to defeat them in a very certain way. It's...it's quite hard."
"And if she doesn't defeat the enemies?" Jacqueline asked, already knowing the answer.
Rosa looked to her feet. "She...she dies, miss."
Jacqueline swore louder than before. "I can't let this happen."
"He'll kill you if you try to stop him," Rosa told her. "He can't kill you alone, but he has many Dark Powers here, and together, in numbers, they can certainly kill you. You are only living because Thomas hasn't the heart to kill you. Don't think he won't change his mind."
"Hasn't the heart to kill me?" Jacqueline repeated ruefully, shaking her head. A picture of Thomas gripping Felicity on her bed flashed through her mind and her face turned icy. "Thomas has no heart save to pump his black blood."
Jacqueline had given up on Thomas the moment she learned what he had done and tried to do to Felicity.
Jacqueline mentally shook the thoughts from her head. She had no time for that now.
"I won't stop the ceremony unless I absolutely need to," Jacqueline finally said. "I only want to be there incase it gets to be too much for Felicity. I won't let anything happen to her again because of my foolishness."
Rosa smiled at her in admiration and stepped aside from the doorway. "They are in the first courtyard. Here is the key to enter."
As Jacqueline took the key, she gave Rosa one of her rare genuine smiles. "Thank you for this. This takes a lot of bravery to defy Thomas and aid me. Thank you, again."
As Jacqueline walked out, Rosa called after her, "Good luck, Jacqueline."
Jacqueline gave a small wave and another smile at the use of her name and continued to walk briskly to the first of the three courtyards.
The first ceremony was about to begin. Thomas watched Felicity stand in the spot he had pointed out to her, facing West, a look of determination mixed with fear on her face.
"Come on, little sister," Thomas half-taunted. "You've fought before. No need to be afraid."
Felicity glared at him. "I'm not afraid."
He laughed coldly. "It's all on your face, dear."
Fire exploded around Felicity without ever touching her. Thomas took a deep breath. It had begun.
A scream could be heard from within the fire. It wasn't Felicity's scream. A smirk slowly made its way across Thomas' face as the animilistic, horrible scream came to an abrubt halt. Felicity was winning. She would make it through the first ceremony. Of the others, Thomas couldn't be sure.
Thomas ignored the Dark presence behind him. Jacqueline wouldn't be needed in this ceremony.
Thomas wasn't so stupid or ignorant to think that Jacqueline wouldn't guess the ceremony was beginning, and he knew Rosa was his nicest servant. He wanted Jacqueline to be there. If Felicity failed, and he couldn't gain the Dark Throne, there at least he wouldn't have Felicity's death on his head.
Not that anything would matter to him if he couldn't get the Throne. The Dark Throne was the only thing he cared for.
Was it?
Thomas gritted his teeth. He shouldn't care if Felicity lived or died. He shouldn't care if Jacqueline lived or died. He should kill her now. No, no, he shouldn't care enough about it to waste the time getting everyone together to kill her. He should let her starve, throw her in the dungeons...
He scowled and turned his thoughts away from anything to do with Jacqueline or Felicity. The only thing he had to concentrate on at the moment was the sounds within the fire.
Felicity would complete the ceremonies. The other sisters would complete the ceremonies. He would gain the Dark Throne. It would all work out.
And after he gained the Dark Throne?
Thomas once again turned his thoughts away. It didn't matter what happened after. All that mattered was that it happened.
Lavina wandered towards the castle wondering where things were taking her in life. Her boyfriend was out tracking again, one of the best in the kingdom and for once she had decided to not let herself get left behind. She was out to find her boyfriend and make him her husband. Yet the trees, life within the forest had led her to another destination and here she was standing in front of a castle, curious as to her fate. Wondering who it is who could need her help, could need her within this area as the trees stated she was needed.
"Hi," Morgaine said "are you lost?"
"Not really," Lavina said looking at her kindly as she was sitting next to a tree. "the trees spoke to me of a place where things have been going slowly wrong, have you any idea why they would lead me here?"
"Not really, no, we are curious as to the whereabouts of my sisters Fiona and Jacquiline, but we are pretty sure that she is with this guy that she used to know a long time ago. Thomas."
"Something feels odd about that name," Lavinia stated. "I hope that you do not believe this is very forward of me, but he wouldn't be interested in the dark arts would he?"
Morgain looked at her shocked, who is this person that walked in through the front gate and was talking to her like this? "I lost my sister to the dark thrown a long time ago," Lavina murmured. "thought so," she said out loud. "I think I could be able to help with your problem, I know a lot about the dark arts, my parents decided a long time ago that in order to keep control of our kingdom when we were older that we had to know the dark arts for in case someone tries to overrule our family as has been seen before by people only craving power. I only tell you this as something about your eyes state to me that I can trust you, and I want to help you and your family and help your sisters friend come back to the light, if that is what he wishes to do."
Felicity felt her lungs screaming. Her entire body felt like it was on fire. Her head was spinning. Her eyesight was blurry. She thought she would faint, but by some miracle she didn't.
It was almost over. She could feel it within herself. But the Ceremony she had to complete--the First Ceremony--was so difficult. And there wasn't even anything there to fight. It was inside of her and she had to burn it out before it ate away at her.
Finally, her head bursting with pain, she felt it leave and the fire around her body went out. She swayed and fell backward, but before she hit the ground, Thomas had caught her.
"Thank you," he whispered sarcastically.
"The others..." she gasped. "The other won't make it, Thomas."
"Shut up, you little slut," he snapped, though still in a whisper so that Jacqueline wouldn't hear. "They will. They must."
"Don't call me a slut," she glared.
He glared back and finally helped her to her feet. "Are you ready to go home?" he asked her.
"Yes, actually," she said.
"Okay," he said and taking the hilt of his sword, he knocked her out.
Jacqueline ran forward, leaving the cover of trees she had been watching from. Thomas knew she was there anyway. How could he not?
"What the hell do you think you just did?" she spat out, getting between Thomas and her fallen sister.
"It was necessary," Thomas told her calmly, his face carefully arranged to give away nothing.
Too carefully. Thomas wasn't quite as uncaring about everything as he wanted Jacqueline to believe. But as to his real emotions - Jacqueline didn't know, and at the moment, she didn't care enough to find out. All she knew was that he had just hit her sister.
"Necessary?" Jacqueline repeated, glaring at him coldly. "And how is that?"
"She can't be conscious when I send her home," he replied. "The Dark would have complete access to her."
"Then let me send her home," Jacqueline said. "I can send transport people without leaving the pray to the Dark."
Thomas clenched his jaw and his eyes flicked away from Jacqueline's - it was only for a second, but it was enough to let her know there could be hope for him still. He was worried about the Dark's hold on him, too. Even if he didn't let himself know he was worried.
It was a start.
"If I give you the chance to transport her, you could transport yourself, too," he said. "I'm not risking that."
Jacqueline turned from him and kneeled before Felicity, putting her hand on the wound. Thomas let her bring the wound into herself and throw it out again, into the air. It was a way of healing, at least small wounds.
Felicity opened her eyes. "Jacqueline!"
Jacqueline put a finger to her lips, silencing Felicity. She stood up and faced Thomas once more.
"You can't even knock someone unconscious without risking the chance of killing someone," Jacqueline hissed at him. "You're loosing control, Thomas."
He glared at her. "I'm not loosing control. I just find it more...satisfying...to knock her out that way."
He gave her a small smirk that wasn't really any emotion at all.
"You're pathetic."
Jacqueline let him digest that and knelt beside Felicity once more, who was sitting up.
"Listen, Felicity, I'm going to knock you unconscious, painlessly, and Thomas is going to send you home," Jacqueline said.
"I don't trust him," Felicity said.
"I don't either, but this is the only choice. It's the only way you're getting home."
Felicity turned her head away. Jacqueline knew that meant she was giving her permission.
"Wait," Thomas said, before Jacqueline put her hand up to put her sister to sleep.
He knelt beside Felicity as well.
"I'll come for you, after your other sisters complete the First Ceremony as well," Thomas said.
"What?" Felicity said. "I thought..."
Thomas raised an eyebrow. "There is a reason I call it the First Ceremony, you know. It implies other ceremonies. Each sister must complete the First Ceremony, and then they must complete the Second Ceremony, and the Third, and so on."
"You told me before that you needed me for the first few ceremonies, not just the first one and then switch the sisters," Felicity said suspiciously.
"The plans have been changed a little," Thomas said.
"Why?" Felicity demanded.
Thomas ignored her and nodded to Jacqueline. She put her hand gently on Felicity's shoulder, and her sister slowly lay back on the ground, eyes fluttering shut.
Jacqueline stood.
"You hurt her," Jacqueline said, looking down at Thomas, who was still kneeling, "and I kill you. I don't care if your minions kill me. If I kill you, it's all over. There's no turning back."
Thomas stood as well.
"She'll be fine," he said. "And you should be grateful I'm letting you live."
"You're foolish," Jacqueline said. "And a liar."
"You think I have some other reason for letting you live?"
"No," she said. "I just know you were lying about knocking Felicity unconscious with you sword hilt because you wanted to. You had to. I'm not stupid, Thomas."
Jacqueline walked away and Thomas waved his hand. Felicity disapeared.
