A heartfelt thank you and (((Hug))) to simply_complex for the gorgeous awardicon! What better time than around Thanksgiving to give thanks for things that make our life special, right? I wrote an essay some time ago that took a look at how I am thankful for things that many other people would not be. In a review for that item THANKFUL SONALI Library Class! had a wonderful idea. She suggested creating a forum to see what others could add to my list that they are thankful for. I thought it was a great idea and I'm looking forward to seeing how this inspires people. Here is a link to my original essay that sparked the idea: "Something To Be Thankful For" To participate, I challenge you to do one or both of the following things. List anything or anyone in your life that you are thankful for and why. Think about the things in your life that you or someone else might consider a challenge or even a problem (rather than a blessing) and find some way to be thankful for them also. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked. "Oh Yeah" said the son. "So what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father proudly. Read More... ▼ "The Blind Sign" =============== A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words. Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. Read More... ▼ |
