Do you believe self-help books are actually helpful?
Sometimes they can be, but mostly I think, no.
Why or why not?
Because people are helped by so many different situations, issues, etc. No one thing will work for everybody who buys the book. Not to mention the person writing the book may have no clue what they're talking about.
Have you read any that were particularly helpful?
I have actually. It's entitled The Feeling Good Handbook.
My very first psychiatrist suggested I purchase it and I did. I've never regretted it.
Are there any self-help books on your to-read list?
I currently do not have any self-help books on my to-read list. I don't have any plans to read any, anytime soon.
