Noticing Newbies

Hi,

I am not quite sure what you mean by technical non-fiction, here. Like non-fiction about technology? Or technical writing (meaning writing for a technical field (such as papers, manuals, documentation, resumes, etc) as defined by wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Technical_writing)? Either way, one good way to find writing about topics that you'll be interested in is to do a genre search. On the left side of your screen (unless my screen is significantly different from yours because of the way you access writing.com) there's a list of menus. One of those menus is "Browse by Genre". If you click on one of those genres (which include "Computers" and "Technology" amid other things) you'll get a list of recently created/edited work by onsite writers who have self chosen that genre as one of the three genres that is appropriate to that piece of writing.

Remember, you'll get non-fiction this way, but you'll also get poems and fiction and random other things but you should be able to filter that by paying attention to the left side of the listing to each item where there's a picture and an item type listed (like "poetry" or "non-fiction" or "word search"). Also, you can filter the entire search by type--that option is at the top of the page above the item list.

Also, another place to check is the "Browse by Type" menu, which will give a list of recently created/edited items of a certain type. You may want to check out "Blogs", but also under Static Items there are "Essays" and "Non-fiction" and "Articles"--which may have titles that appeal to you in genres that you wouldn't necessarily think to search.
