Commentary revival for this branch, for the run of chapters "Making a Fourth Maskateer"  --> "A Rescue and Retreat" 

This was written for a commission, for the same person who commissioned the earlier batch of chapters. The brief was along the lines of "Will and the others get deeper into the female personas" and "They get involved with some boys." That pretty much explains what happens, and why, though I thought it was fun, and I also worked in some more subtle hooks on which to hang some further plot developments, if ever I return here.

Most of the posts immediately above are about photo-references, so I'll risk going a little off topic by revealing that all the new characters -- Micah and his brother and cousins, and Josh -- were inspired by chance creations while playing with AI-generated photos. Somehow these randomly generated images sparked ideas for personalities, and I went with them in preference to dragging out some of the more familiar usual suspects. I doubt these guys will ever be encountered again outside this branch -- their connection to Will and the others is highly tenuous -- which some readers may regret and others might celebrate, depending.
