Where can you find contentment? Is it a result of wealth, power, beauty or fame? Hardly. Genuine contentment springs from a thankful heart. Our modern world seems preoccupied with the search for happiness. We're bombarded with messages telling us that happiness depends upon the acquisition of material possessions. But these messages are false. Contentment is not the result of acquiring more but of being thankful for what we already have. Thus, contentment is really a choice we make-- a choice to be thankful. Contentment is not as elusive as it may seem; it is your for the thanking. Lift your thanks to the Creator of all that is good, and as you thank Him for the blessings in your life____ and in the lives of others__ you will find your contentment grow. If I could just hang in there, being faithful to my own tasks , God would make me joyful and content. The responsibility is mine but the power is His. |
