Still, I have seen people write just for those reading, their tone changes into more of a story feel, and it makes it hard to enjoy their journal, cuz then you're not sure how much to believe... I hope you don't feel that way about mine. I'm always conscious of those who are reading, but I don't write it in the journal if my intention is to twist the truth for their benefit. As for how much to believe, well - I'm the star of my own show, aren't I? As are you. You know, as a writer, you can never completely trust a first person narrator. ![]() But what I write in my journal is the truth, or the truth as I understand it, insofar as I understand it at all. When it comes to any event, each observer knows their own version of the truth, but each account would highlight different details and describe them in a different light. So even if I wrote only for myself, and you discovered my journal long after I was dead, you wouldn't quite know what to believe, would you? Only that you were reading my account of things. You might know me, but would you rely on my journal - and only my journal - to document historical fact? I would hope not. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ![]() ![]() ![]() Come add your thoughts to the "Invalid Item" ![]() Help settle a "domestic dispute" - vote in my poll: "Invalid Item" ![]() |
