A sanctuary for weary writers, inky wretches, and aspiring professional novelists. |
There are so many different writing styles - that there's no well defined way to say something is really wrong. And like Jeff has just said - most people that I know of who write don't actively think of all those 'points' that they talk of in classes because doing so pulls you away from the actual creativity of writing. Write to enjoy it and try to have it make sense to you. Sure you want to keep the story moving and flowing and all that - but you don't need to remember all the key points taught in a class to do that - just think of what you like when you read something - the way it flows, and try to emulate it somewhat in your own writing and I think you'll do fine. I myself love characters that come alive and step off the page as if they were real people so when I write - I try to create characters that are like that. Other people love descriptive writing, and so they usually both strive for and excel at it. So above all do what feels good and you should be fine. Don't worry too much about what others say as long as you like it, that's all that matters. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** |
