Welcome, Starfire. Glad to see I'm not the only newbie around here. I've found that jumping in with both feet is the most fun. Why stop to think? Just do. :)
There are professional freelance editors out there, just like there are professional freelance anything. But, before you go that route, check out the bookstore at a college or university and buy a copy of the grammar book they are selling for their Freshman Comp classes. Far less expensive and if you get a handle on that pesky grammar and punctuation, I think you'll find your writing is stronger before it lands on any editor's desk.
