![]() Right. I once had a back-and-forth with a blue case about that. They told me my public reviews had to be E rated. Au contraire, I said. Your review has to be at or under the rate of the item you're reviewing, it says so in the reviewing guidlines thingy. (Except I provided links back then, 'cause I read those rules about 3 extra times while this was going on.) She said that it should be "close to an E rating" if it's on the public boards, 'cause you never know who will see it. I said I knew who would see it: Any user that had their filter set to see items with that rating. Oh yes! The public review boards work on the same filter that items work on! If you have it set to block GC rated items, it will also block public reviews for those GC rated items. In the end, she grudgingly admitted I was right. I swear I could see her skulking off and grumbling the last line of her email, which was something like, "It would still be better if you tried to keep the rating down when doing a public review." ~All this because I said "shit" in a review. I said it in a suggestion for change to the author's original line, which also said "shit" in it. *blinks* Wow. Sorry about all that. I'm sure you could've gone your whole life without hearing me rant about people instituting rules that don't actually exist. I'm done now. Promise. *chews lip* *saunters off, wandering how one is ever supposed to be able to put a review for an XGC item on the boards* ** Image ID #1048710 Unavailable ** ** Image ID #1034160 Unavailable ** ** Image ID #784430 Unavailable ** I always felt such pity for you humans because you could only think of one thing at a time and your memories were so imperfect and...now I realize that just getting through the day without killing somebody can be an achievement. ~Jane in Children of the Mind by Orson Scott Card |
