Ah yes, but the Western culture is so confined! I mean, we convince ourselves that sex is something that you do behind closed doors. We're afraid of our own sexuality in North America -- myself included. *Smile* Why do you think we all hide behind these computer screens? LOL.

Porn means something different to everyone. Those who are afraid or or disturbed by "porn" would prefer to think that what they read on WDC or on literotica is not "porn", but a kind of erotic adventure that doesn't involve that "nasty" stuff.

You're right in a lot of ways, Wildcat. I mean, it all comes down to semantics, really.

And I agree with you -- I don't think erotica is new, but I do think that mainstream erotica is gaining more ground, and THAT is new. Look at bookstores -- the big box stores (such as Chapters and Indigo here in Canada) are starting to stock erotica. It's been a few years now, but I bet if you went back five years, you wouldn't find anything on their shelves beyond the Harlequin Blaze series.
