Let's take a step back and see if we can figure this out. First, I've got a few questions. Indulge me, please.

How are you finding your characters?
Are your storylines similar?
Does one story idea spring from the next?
When you say you want to write in "areas that you're not used to writing about" do you mean different genres or just unique storylines?
Do you feel like you keep retelling the same story? If so, can you summarize what that story is?
Can you describe, briefly, these similar characters for us?

Sorry again about all the questions. I just need a better understanding of what you're asking for help with.
