New writer's weakness
Hi everyone. I've just started writing bits of fiction this year, but it's something I've always wanted to do. My concern is, I start from a vague idea and some abstract insights, and choose fiction to express them because I think it's the medium with the most potential for originality and connection. But I'm not that strong when it comes to the actual nuts and bolts of storytelling...any tips or advice?

Thanks so much, and I look forward to reading all the writing on this site!
