I feel your pain.(Man, do I ever feel your pain.) You've received some good feedback and there's little I can add except the following: You already know the story to the point it was lost. Start an outline from memory. Capture all the names, places, settings, and major scenes in the outline while they're still fresh in your mind. Be as meticulous as you can in reconstructing the major points of the story, but don't get caught up in trying to recapture minutiea unless you really feel the urge. If any key phrases or actions come to mind, capture those , too. Once you've got that much back on a hard drive, save to a thumb drive or back up on a CRW CD. (I used to favor Zip disks, but lost too many over time. One gig thumb drives are highly affordable and dependable these days.) Once you got the outline finished, give yourself a couple of days to recover from the shock and frustration of loss. I'm betting the frustration gives way to enthusiasm after a while, and you can resume writing with a fresh eye and attitude. Whatever you decide, I wish you the best.
