As for your comment above speed, I wouldn't agree with you on that. You can't ignore it completely. I'm not saying speed over technique or anything like that, but it has to factor in somehow. Personally, I'd take a slow and creative song over shredding any day, but playing a song like Black Star, or Eruption with perfect speed and tempo... that counts. And I'm sure the first thing that will come to mind is: there are hundreds of people who can play that fast....


Sure... and there are hundred's that can play as slow. The point is if they have the musical capacity to compose the song. I guess there's a kid that can play eruption in about every other city with more than a million citizens... but how many could write the song in the first place?

I've trailed off a bit, but that's the way I am when it comes to music... LOve to chat with you about that subject if you want to. I hope this didn't come out too harsh, it just remninded me of all of those people who discard fast playing as 'showing off' or 'speed for speed's sake'... when it isn't as simple.
