We like it hot and sexy! |
When you are copy and pasting your work from Word into writing.com and wish to retain the formatting of paragraphs and indentations follow these directions: 1. Click “edit” at the top of Word 2. Click “Find” A new window will pop up 3. There should be a button that says “More” with two down arrows on it. Click! 4. At the bottom of the box should be another button that says “Special” Click! 5. A list will pop up with “Paragraph Mark” as one of the options, select it 6. A “^p” should now be in the Find What box. Highlight the “^p” and hit “Ctrl C” 7. Click on the tab at the top that says “Replace” 8. In the “Replace with” box paste (ctrl v) the “^p” item TWICE and then type in the WritingML code {indent} Leave no spaces between the paragraph mark and the indent. The Replace with box should read “^p^p{indent}” 9. Click on the “Replace All” button beneath 10. A window will appear that says it found and replaced xxx instances, etc. 11. Close the Find and Replace box. Now highlight all the text and copy and paste into your WDC item. When you save the item, all of your paragraphs will remain with double spaces between them and a nice indent at the beginning of each. NO MORE HUNTING! 12. Be sure to Click Edit Undo on your Word item before closing to remove the extra marks. Who knew it was this easy! I hope that makes sense to everybody. I haven’t been able to make WDC’s “keep formatting” tool work. Please ask if this doesn’t work! You might have a different version of Word from me and will need to hunt a bit to find these same functions. The italics have to be done the hard way. ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** ** Images For Use By Upgraded+ Only ** http://sonyadgrady.com Grand Prize Winner of the 2006 FTHRW Wallflower Contest--Published Author Division |
