I just looked it up. It's called "Hound Dog." I read the petition and I'm not sure whether the authors are more concerned for Dakota Fanning's welfare (they seem to think that she was exploited) or the reputation of the Oscars. I don't think they have seen the movie, but they are calling for it to be banned and for her mother and her agent to be arrested.

I have to admit, that if it were my 12 year old daughter, I wouldn't want her to go through a simulated rape scene. It could be traumatic. But if it is as described - an image of her yelling help followed by a cut to a boy unzipping his pants -the two young actors may not even have been on the set together.

I agree - the protesters seem to be making a big deal over something that is not illegal and is protected by the right to free speech. You'd think that people on a crusade like this might at least consult a police officer, if not a lawyer, before going public.
