A Thirst Not Meant to be Craved by:flipmode

I give it 5 stars

Had the whole day ahead of him
Had a great night before
Bought some liquor to kill the pain
That he won't feel anymore

Came to close to immortality
He won't feel anymore.

All eyes are on him now
Money on the floor
Was it just a bet
Or something more

Just like a devil
Soaring through the air
One swig of the bottle
Left it completely bare

The room is on their feet
Cries of ecstasy
But what they don't realize
Is now he's just a memory

Came to close to immortality
He won't feel anymore.

Hello Mother,
Your son died by the bottle
Hopes and dreams gone in ten minutes
Now you can't see him anymore.

Hello Jack
Got some bad news to tell you
A man died by your bottle
I know it’s sad but its true

His brother is in shock
His mom can't stop the crying
It’s not really your fault
Just a twenty-four year old trying

Ten minutes, Ten dollars
All it took for him to die
Now we'll bury him right next to you
Wherever you may lie

His brother drinks to kill the pain
To forget this terrible act
Every night there is an image
Of an empty bottle of Jack

One shot at a time
Until he can't feel the pain anymore.

Now he is sickened
By his brother's deadly cheers
The only way to kill the pain
Is to confront his fears

Now what would his brother think
Lying in his grave
Is the young one making a bigger mistake?
A thirst not meant to be craved

Starring at the bottle
Hello once again Jack
If he dies in your arms
Let him fly with his pack

Saw the path to immortality
They won't feel anymore.

Now the youngest is left with the pain
Of two siblings dead
What fate brings it this way?
Nothing more can be said.

Should he ride toward the sunset?
Write a song along the way
To sing to listeners
To make the pain go away (and he sings)

"Don't put down your glasses
Instead raise them to the air
Hope that my brothers are watching
And show them we care.

Some think it was a shameful act
While others look in despair
But I look to the sky
And know there's nothing to fear.

Just like a devil
Soaring through the air
Not knowing if he will land safely
But not willing to care

If he falls hard
Will people look in shame?
But if he lands safely
Isn't that just the same?"

Starring at the bottle
Hello Jack once again
Take me in your arms
While I perform this deadly sin

This time there is no money
This time there is no pain
This time it’s just between you and me
I want it no other way.

Just like a devil
Soaring through the air
One swig of the bottle
Left it completely bare.

Starring at the stars
What's this pride done to me?
Was I avenging some death?
Or just setting my soul free

It’s like riding in the heart
Of an unbreakable wave
Soaring through the air
While your body's in a grave

How close we get to death
Is how close we get to life

I want it no other way
Now I just need to find
How to make this hangover go away.
