a preferred author is actually a preferred "reviewer" or preferred "member". that's how you get the yellow cases...review ALOT. i've seen some really bad writers considered "preferred" because they review a lot, donate to the right groups, and basically participate in in a lot of activities. i've also seen some really good writers skipped over, most likely because they don't do those things. don't get me wrong....there are some great writers wearing a yellow briefcase....but there are some really bad ones too. basically....not everyone that is preferred....is..well....."preferred". i'm not saying that they don't earn it...believe me, they do. reviewing the work of other members and participating in activities is what drives this site and makes it what it is....but a preferred "author"? nah.....
