Hi free soul,

It's really tough to be in that position! When you're in high school, four years is an awful lot. I remember when I was in middle school, I really liked my stepcousin. He was probably about 4 or 5 years older than me. I know how you're feeling!

The good news is that in a few years, 4 years won't seem like such a big age gap. Do you you know how he feels about you? Does he think of you as a sister, or does he like you, as well? If he's as moral and admirable as you say, then he wouldn't act on those feelings right now, in any case.

Be his friend. Be there for him. Enjoy his company. If something is meant to be in the future, it will happen. In the meantime, enjoy the company of boys your age, as well. This is the time of your life to meet people, explore relationships, have fun . . . so have fun!
