I've been thinking we should have a joke thread, but I couldn't think of any good jokes to start if off with. Then I remembered a joke I learned on a Persian forum I sometimes frequented while researching a story about ancient Persia. To appreciate it you have to understand that people from once great ancient empires seem to compete over the relative merits of their empires. I'll tell the joke the way I heard it from the Persians, but you will quickly see that any number of nationalities can be interchanged with the ones used here. An Italian archaeologist was bragging about some new findings about ancient Rome. "We discovered thin copper wires that proves without a doubt that the ancient Romans had telephones." "Ah," said the Persian archaeologist. "In all our excavations, we've never found copper wires. It proves that the ancient Persians had cell phones."
