I'm attending the New Bedford Summerfest this weekend where I heard Susan Werner sing her wonderful song, My Strange Nation. It's a dissidents love song to America. It expresses a lot of what I feel: regret over past and present mistakes, but strong loyalty nonetheless. Check it out at http://strangenation.cf.huffingtonpost.com/ .

The song makes the interesting assertion that Abraham Lincoln was gay. A quick check on the web shows that there is some evidence for that claim, but whether or not it is conclusive is debated.
