Well, a relatively useless psychologist has told us my 8 yr. old is autistic, but I haven't been able to get him to put anything on paper (he's been seeing her in weekly individual counseling since May). The other two have not been officially evaluated. I live in Michigan (USA)- the neurologist we took our daughter to said that in Michigan a medical diagnosis won't get us services in the schools- just the educational one, which in our county doesn't recognize high functioning autism in bright kids. *sigh* Yeah, I know they're breaking the law on this, but when you are poor, who can access the legal help to force such a monolithic system? I'm still working on it, but it sure isn't going to help me now, this year!
