"It takes losers to make winners."
So grandma alway says,
as she trawls along the bingo halls
and bets away the days.

She nearly won the lottery
and came home with five pounds,
"Just think of folks I've helped make rich;
my logic's really sound."

When every National Day comes near
she likes to have a flutter;
For tea we think how close she was
and dine on bread and butter.

There's one more thing she ruminates
on why it isn't good to win.
"If we were rich, we'd live on chips,
and not be nice and slim."
