Talk about blessings!
Tithing.

A core practice I've always struggled with. Not that it's been difficult to pay, but I'm the type to tuck the envelope in my scriptures and forget about it.

So, never really gotten that whole testimony of tithing thing. Had a few blessings when I have managed to get it paid (been much better about it since preparing for the temple!), and I'm trying very hard to get tithing to be a natural habit for me rather than an "oh yeah, better re-budget things so i can get that paid this month"

However, I think I got the blessings by the ton this month. My husband and I have been rather tight this summer (I substitute teach, so no money coming in right now on my part). At the same time, collections for a car loan that I gave back to the bank came due, with the last $1000 needing to be paid by September 15th. My first expected "big check" won't be due until October.

So, I've been running numbers and stressing out, but always, ALWAYS tithing has been the first thing I budget when allocating my husband's paycheck to various bills and payments. Suddenly, my husband gets an amazing job offer that allows him to make almost as much in 2 weeks as he would normally in a week... and guess when that first big paycheck is going to show up?

Add in a few days from his last job that'll amount to just less than $600 also showing up on the 15th...

I am walking on air. We're planning a temple trip tomorrow to make sure the decision is the right one to change, but even if we choose not to change jobs, it'll be because his current employer matched the other guy's offer... Either way, there is a heartfelt prayer of thanks being sent out at least half a dozen times while I'm sitting there. (Along with a few other prayers of a more selfish nature, heh).

I'm just... I'm... speechless, ever grateful and just thrilled and relaxed and happy, and inspired and everything else.

And, all of this is just in time for us to prepare for a move across town to a place that costs $175 more a month (since we'll need the extra room come November 27th!) and the little one on her way (Merry early Christmas to us!)
