Welcome Trekkers. Have a cup of Klingon Raktajino, and enjoy our friendly Starbase. |
Hey Guys ![]() Ever had one of those days, or even weeks or even months where you want to run full-speed, head-first into a cement wall? After you've read this post, I think you would even look for a cement block to hit me with... ...on Tuesday afternoon when I finished work in the city, as per normal I caught the train home which is out in the suburbs. I work in the city of Sydney and live in the western suburbs. I was sitting there on the train, blasting my ears to music and looking forward to just getting home and away from the crowded city. I had the next day off work, so I was looking forward to coming home, pouring a glass of wine, putting my feet up on the coffee table and watching a couple of DVD's which are usually either Star Trek (of course), Supernatural, That 70's Show or even West Wing (and if I have a bad day, I'm not adverse to reaching for Dexter). ![]() Anyways, like good lil vegemite I toddle off to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon to visit my sick mother. As soon as I walk into her room she asks, "so how was it?" "Er, how was what?" "The Star Trek movie premiere." "What Star Trek movie premiere?" Here I started to wonder how high the dosage my Mum's morphine is? "The movie starts in May." "But the opening was last night at the Opera House." "No, the movie opens in May." "But I saw on the news last night they did the premiere at the Sydney Opera House with some of the actors there. I thought you would have gone." "WHAT?!" Then I use her laptop with her wireless connection to check the net and low and behold, it was held last night at the Sydney Opera House. I could have walked down from my office, down to the harbor to check it out? But last night all I could think of was getting out of the city. I spent the next two hours, spitting chips and fuming so much so, my Mum considered sharing her morphine with me! D'OH! Plus the Sydney Con for Supernatural is this month and it's selling out fast! Double D'oh! ~~~~~~~~ "...The point is, if you lie all the time, nobody's going to believe you even when you're telling the truth." --"Are you sure that's the point, Doctor?" "Of course, what else could it be?" --"That you should never tell the same lie twice..." (Bashir & Garak, on the boy who cried wolf ST:DS9) ~~~~~~~~ |
