I think you did it okay.

He's a calm sort of guy, but he doesn't tolerate that sort of thing too much. Plus, he's going to be edgy, irritable, and easily angered right about now. A full day without him being near his Match isn't easy. Even distracting himself by getting busy (like trouncing Kor. Lol) won't help completely.

If not for the threat of danger from the Guild, I suspect Ver would have just dosed himself with valla and somna, curled up in the corner of Chrys' room, and slept the day away. *shrug*

so what you did works. Angry, frustrated, but he's still in control. For now.
