There is a picture in my parent's home of Jesus standing at the door knocking. He will never barge into our lives. It took me a long time and one day I really looked at that picture, and I realized there was no doorknob on the outside. It is up to us to open the door to Him. If we don't, He will never enter into our lives and work the miracle we keep asking Him for, but He can't do it if we don't let Him in. It is unfair to ask God to do things for us, if we don't give Him access to our lives. We want to live our lives our way, without interference. It would seem to me the one speaking those thoughts to you so loud they drown out all others is the one who would barge into your life, and make himself known in many deceitful ways all disguised as doing things my own way. I found when I allowed God into my life, open the door and let Him in, my life becomes less chaotic and more stable. As my Savior, He promised to send His Holy Spirit to guide and teach me all things. With a live-in teacher, my life goes in directions I could never go without Him. I have a Father who loves me. I have a Savior who died for me. I have the Holy Spirit who continues to teach me daily everything I need to know. To walk through this life believing you don't need anyone else is arrogant. We all need someone, and God provided that someone in the form of His Son, and just so you know, Jesus needs us too. He doesn't walk alone anymore than I do. Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
