One of the happy highs of WDc was the day I became a Rising Star. I was so thrilled. I never thought I was particularly talented or a writer whose work people would actually want to read. Sure I got a couple of good reviews, but the world was full of kind people. This was the moment that convinced me I wasn't crazy to pick up my pen again after more than thirty years of wordless wandering in the wilderness of 'busy' life.
